Sigma PT-4B Parts needed
« on: December 13, 2017, 10:54:39 PM »
Hi there, I have a Sigma Slant top PT-4B that I need 2 small boards for one labeled Sigma Game Inc. 340113 Rev B, and the other labeled Sigma Game Inc. 340008C 1995. Might anyone have these boards if not perhaps know where I could get them? Pictures attached.
Thanks, Scott

I believe the top board is the hopper control board, I have that board.  The bottom board is for SIDS interface, casino communications with the machine, I believe you do not need that board for home use, I may have it also.

Thanks Jim, got the board in and placed it in the machine and wvala! I think we are VERY close to having this thing function again. I happen to believe I either have a bad nickel CC and/or I have an outdated BV that only accepts old bills. Will try to get a few old bills and see if I can get some credits on her. The nickels just get stuck on the very beginning part of the CC. I tried re adjusting the CC going all the way to the left on the adjuster and still the nickels get stuck.

Thanks again for all Jim!

Scott
p.s. tell me you got paid kind sir.

received the payment,   thank you.     as for the cc sticking, see what is holding it up, the pivot arm is usually the problem,  sometimes there is a pin that is inserted into the sliding part to prevent the arm from hitting the main frame,  the pivot arm can be removed, the cc will function fine without it.

the other item is the set screw setting on the fixed part of the coin input,  adjust this out just a hair to clear any obstruction, this usually will cure the problem.

if it continues to be a problem, I have replacement cc available, send picture along  with the plug connection, this unit has the inhibit feature.

Thanks again Jim your counsel is awesome!

Ok, so when inserting a bill into the BV the bill will be taken in all the way to the point of perhaps a 1/4 inch of the bill sticking out still, then it retracts and sends the bill back out to me. Was able to attain multiple old bills in good condition and they behaved the same going all the way in to only a 1/4 inch of the bill sticking out and then reversed the bill back out. Was hoping that there was a way to take the BV out but it just seems I can only release it until it moves into a vertical position but still wont come out. Couldn't find out to take it out from the manual. stumped. Lastly, is there any way to simply add some credits onto the game without the use of the BV or CC? Would love to know.

Thanks again,

Scott

Ok, almost have this ole beast back to a 100% working order. Looking for the cam lock/key set for this sigma slant top PT-4U; anyone point me in the right direction? Also, if I were to upgrade the BV on this thang where might I find a BV that will take newer bills? If you need a pic of my BV please refer to previous post in this thread where I posted a pic of the BV.

Thanks!

There was a newer model of bill validator called the DBV-200 that is a direct replacement for the DBV-145 and it has improvements over the DBV-145. The problem is that the DBV models have software inside them for "talking" to the mpu board in your machine, so you have to find a DBV-200 that has the Sigma version software. Or find someone that can mod a DBV-200 so it gets the Sigma version software loaded into it. There are still many DBV-200 available but you'll need to get one that contains Sigma compatible software. The way to identify this is called the "ID-xxx", where "xxx" is a number that identifies the software comm method, also called the ID protocol. The photo of your old DBV-145 looks like it has a sticker saying "ID-011". That tells you what ID a replacement DBV-200 needs. There may be a different ID that is also compatible, someone familiar with Sigma machines can say for sure.

For removing the DBV-145, look on the bottom side, there are often some small screws there that hold the DBV in place to the mount it is sitting on. Also, the black handle on the upper part of the DBV that you can pull upward is for opening the DBV and removing a stuck bill or for cleaning the DBV sensors inside.
