IGT S2000 and Vision Games / Re: What kind of board do I have in my S2000
« Last post by lookes on Today at 11:50:20 AM »
You have a 500 REV D board. Useless for enhanced audio. One of the very first S2000 MPU's.
Is it stereo with the enhanced board? Need to know if you have a stereo wire harness and a top box amplifier.

The normal 502A audio rework won't work on 500's or 501's. It's meant for 502's   I do have a rework that makes 500's and 501's almost as quiet as 504's tho.

Just remove, not needed for home use, will destroy board when it leaks.

As far as removing the battery, does it need to be replaced or can this just be removed? Thanks for the information.

Machine probably has a mono sound harness and is most likely a 502 board that needs the sound ground mod.  It also needs the blue varta battery removed asap.  Member lookes repairs and mods these boards.

Marc what video card is in the A2? If you go back to another game, it will display? What OS are you using?

See pic attached to help identify the board. Backstory... I wanted to get stereo sound, so I purchased the Multimedia Lite Board II for the machine. When I plug the soundcard into the board and turn on the machine I instantly hear a static noise, usually associated with a bad ground. Before I plugged in the soundcard there was no static, and only sound coming out of the right speaker. When I hit spin, I can audibly hear the humm from the reel motors the duration of the spin. I found a video on youtube that shows the issue I am having and how he modded his board to solidify the ground connections on the PCB. My issue Is I don't have the same board, I don't know what board i have, and am looking for schematics on how to reinforce the ground connections to get better sound in stereo. Any help in identifying the board, or offering wiring solutions would be appreciated.
Here is the youtube video i was referencing, https://youtu.be/NE-8_tUSy2s?si=egLdwgAl_TlWehoQ&t=178

Pics of my board attached.

IGT S and S-plus Reel Games / Re: IGT Double diamond need some help
« Last post by David Walz on Today at 10:19:47 AM »
It's hard to tell by those photos whether it's just dirty with surface rust, or if it's pitted where it would need re-plating.
Has the seller stated if it works or not? I'm assuming no but some S plus fixes are quite easy! And it's a "nudge" machine which are much more fun than the regular 'ol Double Diamond.
I'd pay $200 for it, provided the machine just needs minor repairs and a good cleaning. Some parts though, like the MPU are getting more expensive to replace. I'd seen them on eBay for $30 but now the prices have gone up. We still have members here though that would give sell one at a fair price.

"Supposedly" works free play. So, it's a good candidate for a builder.  It's a S plus?

IGT I-Game and Game King / IGT Game King Multigame doesn't boot up
« Last post by kmarrocco on Today at 10:10:18 AM »
Hello, I have a game king multigame that does not seem to boot up.  The person I got it from said the display likely works but the power supply may be bad.  How can I verify this?  I am attaching a picture of the lights on the MPU as well as a video of me turning it on.

Bally Electromechanical / Re: Bally 742-A blowing fuse

Nothing wrong with no meters.  Usually meters were pulled out when machines were sold to public.  (At least that's what I was told.)

I am kind of a traditionalist, and put meters back in when possible.

I don't guess it would hurt anything to leave it not hooked up if I decided to would it?
