Here's where the cable goes to the comm board on the power distribution box.  It goes into the lowermost 6 pin connector.
Thanks Jonm287

Question,
from power pin 3 goes to mikon pin 6,
                         1 goes to           pin 1
                         2                              2

Is that correct?

No - see reply 13 for the correct pin outs.

Have you properly loaded the chamii+ using the laptop and the PSP software? If your not having it display  a jackpot amount there is something wrong with the settings you loaded to the Mikhon unit. You must get that working first.
The display should  not show c1 even with that plug not connected.
There is a lot of information in that link I attached.

no I didn't configure the chamii+,  I thought I needed to get the hardware connected properly first.  Thanks for that info, I will try to configure that tomorrow.  Thanks for all your help qbert.

I loaded the Chamii+ using the laptop and the PSP software to the settings in the above attachment but get a message "error ocurred in loading data from controller"  below that in the dos window I get the message "no answer on port, PC ID -- check controller #1"  I know it's communicating with the controller because when I hit F3 the display says "LOADING..."  Also, the correct date and time shows up when I reboot the system.  I even changed the date to a bogus date using PSP to make sure it was taking the date using the PSP and it is.

when I hit F1 Send it updates the jackpot (see Pics) but when I hit F2 Load I get the error messages.

I configured the Mikohn using the function switches to the docs you sent.  The display now shows a flashing multi color 12,000.00$ and a C10 ( Progressive not set up) .  Not sure why the $ sign is at the end of the amount but hey at least it changed from 0.00$  lol.   I read where a bad battery on the Mikohn can also cause a C10 message.  The battery is bad so I'm going to replace that.

These aren't rechargeable batteries are they?

I think the batteries get a charge from the circuit board when the controller is powered up, but you can't just go and charge the old battery that is on your controller board.

You can change the position of the dollar sign in the software.  It's been far too long since I've messed with one, but I know the option is in there somewhere.

If you're having trouble getting the controller to accept your new settings (the LOAD SEND (edit: thanks qbert) command), try powering it off, then back on, and then sending your settings immediately after the controller finishes its boot cycle (as soon as it starts showing the jackpot amount or a Cx error message) -- often that helps.

Yes the battery on the chamii is a rechargeable type 3V Panasonic VL2330.
It is probably worth changing.
You should only be using the send command.
You use the load command to put the current chamii settings onto your laptop as a file you create. In that way if you ever corrupt the chamii like when the battery goes dead you call up your named file when you start the PSP, then send it to the chamii.
When sending files from the PSP to the chamii first make sure you have each page set up properly  and saved.
When you are ready to send the data to the chamii unplug and replug the chamii. As soon as it completes it's boot cycle hit the send key 2 or 3 times. This usually gives you the best chance at getting the chamii loaded. Also on stubborn units send just the individual pages one at a time still doing so immediately after a reboot.

Thanks all for your help.  It slow going for me with the learning curve.  I really appreciate your patience.  I was able to move the $ sign to the front of the jackpot.

SYMBOLS AND CURRENCY SET UP
Page 3  F5 PRE is what moves it.

I'm no longer getting the C10 or C1 message but I'm still getting "Link Progressive Down" and "Primary Sas down" in the display window.  I have new batteries ordered but not sure if that will resolve those issues.  Any Suggestions?

Ok you are making progress. You have come a long way. Tackling a s2000 and a Mikhon stand alone is very difficult for a brand new user. Give yourself a pat on the back. I believe the Mikhon is now set up.Time to work on the 3 wire connections to the S2000. Show us a picture of your connections on the Mikhon and where you connected it to the mother board or lower communication box.

Ok, the "Link Progressive Down" message is cleared and the only message I'm getting now is "Primary Sas Down".  From what I've read this is probably because the machine is looking for a server.  I read that "You will need a key chip in order to remove the settings".    Is this something I will need and how do I know which one I need?

Actually comm options are soft changes, meaning they don't require a keychip to change.

Where do I make soft changes?  the only menu options I see are (1 accounting) (2 History Displays) and (4 I/O Test)

If this machine came from a casino and has not worked in the home environment I suggest a clear procedure be done.
That will reset the sas error (along with everything else unfortunately)

after doing a lot of reading and searching I was finally able to get into the 7.1 Key Chip Config and 3.4 Communications Options to make changes to clear the Sas error thanks to foster's post.  Now I just need to figure out how to get credits into the machine so I can play it. lol

All original issues have been resolved thanks to everyone's help.  Now going to do more research and open appropriate threads for new issues.
