Title: CEI 906 Turbo Board - Compatibility with anything else?
Post by: shortrackskater on February 08, 2016, 04:37:55 PM
Does anyone know if the 906 turbo board is similar to the super board in pinballlarry's game - see link below.  (edit: in this game: http://newlifegames.com/nlg/index.php?topic=9723.0 (http://newlifegames.com/nlg/index.php?topic=9723.0) )?

I'm not sure what a 906 turbo board is, does the 906 refer to part of the board part number? I think I remember another thread where you said you got the board from another member, for use on one of your machines? If we get the entire board part number would a google search find anything on it?

I'll check when I get home. I should probably start a new topic but I'm not sure where to put it! If I stick it in the CEI section it could sit there forever.  :rotfl:
When I put that board in my CEI, the display was very similar.

So it's a Cal-Omega board, or an IGT board?   :Scratch-Head:

If Cal-Omega board you're wondering if it allows multi-game play on CEI, like the super board does for IGT PE+ machines?

As far as I know there are two boards.
Super and non-super.

There is also a rare wing board - that works with the super board to allow 5 chips - that share the same capx and M?O sets to work as a multi-poker.

On the Player's Edge yes. I think shortrackskater is wondering about a multi game board he has that's called a "906" board and it is for the Cal-Omega machines. (I think)

Good lord! What have I started?
Yes it's a Cal Omega board... I bought two a while back. They work in my machine, sort of. But my button display is wrong and basically this was a board for a later model machine. But the display and game choices were very similar. I was curious if this board or platform was somewhat "generic" for other games, like the IGT? Here's a shot of the board.

 :agreepost:

My MPU board was for the Gamblers Choice machine. I originally thought it would work in my earlier model CEI. There's so many of these that look the same or very similar to me and when I saw the screen shots of pinballlarrys game, it looked very close to mine. I'm keeping it as a spare in case mine craps out.

 :hijacked2:

And I did it! I think we can just nip it here, or I can nip it and move it somewhere...

(It was moved and a NEW subject created!  :applause: )

That screen shot of the card layout was what got me thinking of my old CEI. And ... where's SolidSilver by the way?  :Scratch-Head:
He needs to be chiming in here...

My heart feels a zing when I see this old logo of ours.
32 years with them, still proud of the time.

What you have there is a 906III Turbo Plus,  it is compatible with Cal Omega, Casino Electronics Inc., United Gaming, Ramstar, Tuni and several others in the rest of the world.  Using 2 28 pin double sided edge connectors 903, 904, 905, 906. 926 boards use the same pin out configuration and can be interchanged.  The EPROMS on the board pictured have 4 different poker games and Black Jack selectable by the player, and use a 10 button control panel.

 :thank_you:
Thank you! I know you PM'd me awhile back as well on this when some of us were trying to help another member who since SOLD his CEI after giving up!
I'll modify this thread soon and make it a "sticky" for further info on compatible CEI mpu boards.
