Title: IGT? maybe. Need help
Post by: trace507 on April 02, 2017, 08:26:24 PM
I got this machine for free neighbors were gonna trash it. I got it to turn on and to play and dispense winnings. I am wanting to identify it. There is a part on the coin slot acceptance mechanism that makes noise. Seems to be some type of electromagnetic device to shift coin delivery, the speakers have static, and it the CRT shutdown sometimes but machines seems to stay on maybe. I am sure the cosmetics I can try to work out and replace lights/starters. The locking mechanism is out of machine but looks easy to reinstall just need to replace the lock because the door will not stay shut during play without being locked. If someone could help me or point me to a repository of information/manual etc I would gladly become a paying member. Here are a few pics. The power supply looks like a janky. Please and thanks for any help anyone can provide.

I don't think that is a IGT, looks more like a Bally.
You can put a piece of electrical tape over the electromagnet on the coin lockout coil to decrease the noise.
Can you provide a lighted picture of the main computer board?

That looks like a early CEI 904 board. Those SSR's were later replaced by triacs.

I agree, think that it is a CEI/Cal Omega machine. If you carefully examine the front and back of the main circuit board (mpu board) or the interconnect board that the mpu plugs into you can usually find the name of the company that made it. Also, sometimes written somewhere on the glass it will say the name or initials of the company.

There are some manuals and information in the NLG download area about the CEI/Cal Omega machines but that company made many variations of their machines. Often a manual covers a similar but not exact machine as the one you are looking for. You can make a small one-time donation to the NLG site and get download access for a limited time, just mention it to the NLG staff what you are wanting to do. There are also some CEI/Cal Omega manuals at this place:

Below is a screenshot showing part of the CEI/CalOmega files in the NLG download area. It is a poor contrast screenshot so may be hard to read but hopefully it gives you an idea of what is available.

Also, I brightened a couple of your photos to maybe make it easier for us to see them.

I searched the Main board, the only board to be honest. I also looked on the glass the only markings I found was "Casino Coin Company". The board plugs into connectors but they only have wiring coming out, no other board it connects to.

ok, thanks for checking on the board markings, it may be hidden by that mod work that has been done near the edge connector. Here is the main discussion board on NLG for the CEI/Cal Omega machines, take a look at some of the discussion threads that have photos, see if your machine or the mpu (mail circuit board) looks like some of the ones other people have that have been identified as a CEI/Cal Omega. I am fairly sure your mpu board is CEI/Cal Omega, it resembles the ones that are marked that way.

Can you post more photos of your machine, inside showing any other circuit boards where they are mounted, no need to remove them. Have plenty of light when taking the photos so they won't be too dark, makes it hard to see any details.
