Post by: Nepa Coin Op on October 16, 2017, 07:52:07 PM
i picked up a beautiful s2000, would like to make a few changes to it,
1st question is on the vfd it just scrolls play 3 coins, i am used to these showing credits and $$$ in a split screen there when playing... how do it get that on there like that ???
secend is I would like to add multi denom, from what I saw on here its basically turn it on in the settings with set chip after adding touch pad then set the denoms and %%.... which set chip and or game chips do i need to have on hand??

VS011GX1 is the version chip that allows the split screen with multi denom. KEY00045 allows you to make changes. The accounting denom can only be changed after using a clear chip. IVC00224 recommended. Most SG chips are capable of multi denom but not all. It would help to know which ones are on your board.

Multi-denom can be done via touch pad or an addition of a button depending on the machine set up.

If the machine has a 6-6-3 display then the touch pad set up should have at least the basics in there already.

If the machine has a 5-5-2 display then most likely need to add the extra button for multi-denom. (but can be converted to touch pad)

VS011NX5 can also be used for split screen also.

There are some older SG chips with VS011GX0 that allow for up to I think is 12 denoms.

No one is laughing but those are as old as the last S+ machines that were made.

BTW .. older S2000 machines didn't have the set up for the button type of multi-denom. To see if that style is available then check for an extra set of button wires around the play max button. If so then you can go with the multi-denom button route.

There's extra plugs by the max play button and in the center of the machine ..... could I add the touch to this ?

you should have an extra place for a button, it should have a blank plate covering the hole, the wiring is there for that button, works the same as the touch pad, cycles through the selected coin denominations. typically the button insert is blue in color and has the word "multi" on it. even if your button panel doesn't have the extra space available, you can replace the entire button panel.

a picture of your machine would answer a lot of questions.

Some or most early S2000 machines didn't have the extra wires for the button multi-denom.

If it has the button hole like Jim mentions then the wires should be there.

I do have the extra hole with a block off plate on it and wires for that button under it
