Bally Reel Games / Opening door on Bally E2303-4
« Last post by tsanchez123 on Today at 10:54:30 AM »
I just bought a slot machine without keys.  The previous owner drilled out the door lock and had it opened.  Unfortunately in transport the door closed and now will not reopen.  Do I just jam in a screwdriver and turn as instructed? I tried this but it didn’t seem to catch, not sure how hard to force it in, don’t want to do any further damage.  Maybe there is another way to get in (disassemble the wooden case?). Also, once open does anyone know where I can purchase a replacement lock and reset key? Any suggestions are appreciated!

Hi Bruce:
Those are common monitors in the early games.
Sounds like you got caps which is really important.  Those are all getting to the point where Flybacks go out on them too, be sure to check the HOT and voltage regulators too.
Always discharge the 2nd anode cup on these too.
If you need specific parts reach out to Bob Roberts, they know that unit well and they usually have Flybacks in stock. www.therealbobroberts.net
Here is a link to a G05 repair video, I'm at my  9-5 job today so I didn't watch it in detail, but he talks through some of the component specifics and potential issues.

Please keep us updated.

Wow, thanks for sharing that, it sounds fantastic. I agree with Shortrackskater, I would love to see pictures of that recreation center and that game specifically. Thanks for sharing.
My machine still works, on it's own terms, meaning it takes about 20 minutes for the CPU to come to life. It plays great once it wakes up.

"Bill Validator Hardware Error".... you have an IBA4 bill acceptor.
I believe that was called an "International Bill Acceptor" made by JCM (Japan Cash Machine) and from the label, I can see that it was made in December of 2004....sooo...that thing is going on 20 years old now.
Unfortunately, I have never seen one of those as I'm in the United States.
I'm sure someone has some info relating to that model but also, that is pretty old too.
I will try to dig around and see what I can find on that BV.

For now, try doing the simple things such as re-seating the cash box and opening & closing the main door a few times.

I would check with Alan at KLAR. His information is in the sponsors section on the home page.
I'm not sure who else has Sigma parts. If anyone else knows, please comment.
