Bally Alpha 2 Pro V32 - OS Install Question
« on: November 11, 2017, 11:53:15 AM »
I am trying to update to the 366J OS  I currently have 366E.  The OS is on a dongle.  I have it plugged in and started the machine.

The install screen is showing "Open the Logic Door to enable the install button"  I have never seen this before since i normally install from a flash card.  Any advice would be appreciated on how I can enable the install button.  Not sure what the Logic Door is.  I have the door open where the flash cards go in.

Thanks,
J

The logic door is where the cf cards go.  That switch and the one that locks into to housing to the left are probably jumped inside the box to a closed position.
two wire set up that plugs into the main lower board.  Also make sure that it sees the lower door open (belly door).  Also there have been some issues trying to load usb sticks on the front of the mpu on 194/227 boxes.  Good Luck

You probably have a jumper installed in the connector associated with the logic door.  It is on the left side of the mpu under where the key that locks the mpu to the cage resides.  If you remove that, you should be able to install from usb drive.  Or you could just format a cf card and copy the files off the flash drive into the cf card and install as you would normally.

Thanks Barry and Rick. You are both correct. I do have the jumper installed. I don’t need it since I installed the lock so I will remove it.

Thanks again for the help!
