Bally 809
« on: February 04, 2018, 04:10:43 PM »
i have a bally 809 ZZB. MT-17276. My first EM slot machine , I bought it not working.
It does not accept the coin, if I trip the coin switch it does not add additional on the multiplier . The handle will not pull unless I trip the release. The reels spin and it pays out if I score. I took the reel bundle out and cleaned the old grease off the assembly thinking a switch was sticking. The air plunger was very dirty and sticking. I have 50 volts to everything I checked so far.
I now have the multiplier assembly out to clean.
Any Ida's or suggestions?

Here is a good place to start.......Clean all of the contacts, clean all the old grease on the reel mechanism, you can remove the reels by pushing down on the levers on either side of the reels and carefully removing the reel assembly, clean the beau plugs, male side with soft brass brush, female side with rolled up 400 grit sandpaper, just rub enough to get the corrosion off, you can spray it with WD40 to help clean the beau plugs but make 100% sure it has all dried up before you try to plug it back in and us it otherwise it might catch fire from the WD40...

Clean all the contacts on the coin hopper, clean the contacts on the handle release coil..

Carefully jump the yellow wire on the switch to the other solder joints one at a time on the switch.
Listen for the coin relay to trip and or the handle release switch.
This is a way to check if the switch is good.

This is great, my schematic does not have the wire color numbers.
And the pictures are a great help. Where is the switch in pic number 3 located at?
