how do you load game cd on reel touch
« on: April 25, 2014, 10:33:59 AM »
Need some help loading game software to the reel touch top unit..
I have the proper game cd. How would I load this to a new hard drive assuming the old one is toast.
Do I have to put an operating system on the hard drive first or will the cd load everything that is required to operate the machine?
Some instruction manual or step by step would be great.

Thanks
Rich

It has to be a working drive with the operating system installed for the cd to load a new game. The game cd is not a recovery disk. Your best bet is to get someone to clone a working reel touch drive for you.

SB523 and SG536.
I'm trying to get a spare hd that will work in both machines.
I have two working D ducks both have the same chips listed above.
One has a 504 board and the other is enhanced with legacy. One has finger bios the other has energy star.
I can swap top monitor sets to either machine and they both work. Only difference is old bios takes about 3 min longer to boot up.
Thanks

first thing to know is that even though your top box will work with either MPU, you will not know if they are a good match Unless you have played through a bonus round.
They are only a perfect match if the machine doesn't freeze at the the bonus.

With that out of the way.  I have Hard Drives & Bios that will work with Bios 2 "Energy Star". The drives have 5 games on the them. Bucks, The Duck, Flip, Frog, & Larry.
If it ain't broke.....Stop trying to fix it.

I have played many hours with both machines with swapping top boxes and they both work and play bonus rounds properly no matter which one I use.
I really want to just have one spare HD for both but if that's not possible ... Can I upgrade the bios on the finger one?
One more question is there a way to adjust the brightness of the LCD? One of mine is just a little brighter than the other.
PM me on HD info.

Thanks for your help Lind.

Looks like I am about 2 years late getting to this post and subject.

I have a Hexbreaker Reel Touch with an RFA error and no software to restore.

Does anyone have a source or idea where I might find the necessary software?

By the way, I have software for the following games and willing to share. I have Lobster Larry,Tabasco,Denver Duck,Bucks Ahoy, Frog Prince.... Do I have Hexbreaker; of course not.
