IGT PE pLUS CERONIX MONITOR BLACK SCREEN

Hi,


It worked great, then I moved the machine, turned it on, heard a zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz inside and no image ever since. there is power in it but no image at all....


I checked the three fuses, the're all good.


Any clue?

Could be a few different things. Describe "moved the machine" for us, it may help. Did you lay it down, bounce it anything unusual?

I hate to think the worst, but if you laid it on it back when moving you could has broken the neck on the CRT/monitor.. Remove the plug to the monitor under the shelve, them lift slightly and the whole assembly will slide right out for inspection.

The machine was moved from one place to another in a car, laid down.


I should have inspected it before turning it on beacause I noticed, afterwards, that the monitor had moved as well, but it was too late.


I am really disgusted as the colours were very nice on that old monitor...

After pulling the monitor out, check the anode lead to the tube, which would be the big thick wire with the suction cup on the end and inspect the neck of the tube for cracks or breakage. Let us know what you see...

I checked as far as I could... I didn't see anything.


 I think it would be better to replace that monitor with an LCD.

Ceronix has a dirrect replacement at there web sight, but they are not cheap.

Just a side note here for all to read and heed, when transporting games with monitors do like you would with a hopper, remove it. Better safe than sorry. We now return you to your regularly scheduled programming...

 A 15" LCD monitor is 377 bucks, I have asked for a quote including shipping to France. I will let you know if I buy it.

I beleave they are plug and play. You could alway contact them for more information. I don't think anyone has totally figured out how to do a conversion with after market parts yet. It would be great if it was, because I have a couple machines I'd like to fix, and its almost impossible to find a good used CRT and mating chassis for these old video poker machines.

I learned the hard way once about how easy it is to snap a neck on a CRT when moving a machine. Just leaning one back on a two wheel cart, and the monitors cradle popped loose and snapped the neck. I didn't realize it till I turned it on and it sounded like bacon frying. That's one of my machine that I want to repair some day. I've been trying to figure out what monitor will work with the 1492 Ceronix chassis, but I'm not having much luck..

CRT's don't really cross to anything like electronic parts do, it'll have to be an exact match, but you might try googling the number off the back of the tube
