I'm getting ready to convert my Slant Top Game King from a 19" CRT, to LCD.. I have the monitor and touch screen, but want to clean the Smoke out from between the LCD and touch screen.. I've removed then from a CRT before using a razor blade pushing down on the CRT to stay away from the touch screen. With this being LCD I need to rethink this.. I've heard of someone using dental floss to cut the tape.. Anyone have a safe way to do this without hurting the LCD or touch screen wires.. :Scratch-Head:

The only experience I have had was on a 20" Tatung monitor on an Alpha S9E.
The monitor frame snapped into the touch screen frame. No cutting 2 sided tape.
If you have a similar set up I would be happy to give you directions.

I have replaced hundreds of the screens.... Ive used dental floss, a razor and fishing line.... My personal preference was Spyder-wire fishing line.... I use to use a 8lb to 10lb line... my .02 cents.

Thanks for the input.. I've taken them off CRT monitors many times, just never off of a LCD monitor.. I've always used razor blades. Do you just wrap the line around your hand and pull or something like a pencil when pulling? Thanks Gary

This is my first post.
I like the suggestions mentioned above. As a guitar player, I have been using guitar strings.
I find it best to work diagonally from the corners.
Of course, special caution must be taken to avoid damaging the touchscreen wires.
Use a pair of good gloves, or you will cut your hands.
Now, I will get some fishing line. I've got a gig tomorrow and I'm out of guitar strings. :soapbox_3:
