« on: February 11, 2016, 02:54:08 PM »
game is having a restart issue after it has been on a couple hours , rom test all good  , not sure if it is a watchdog timer issue or not , I worked on these games for H betti Industries when they first came out but  unfortunately it has been to long for me to remember  , :Scratch-Head:  although what I do remember was a cap mod on the board near or around the battery  not sure if cutting a trace was included ? I cant even locate the service bulletin  when This issue was happening  , Can anyone please help me  ?  many thanks in advance ! :EmoticonHelp4:

I had a Cruisin' USA doing the same thing.  I replaced the switching power supply with a new unit and everything has been fine ever since.  YMMV

When you test the 5v, see if there's a drop between the PSU and at the PCB. Or if you want to go crazy check at the chip level. If so adjust the PSU so that the board edge is at 5.0-5.1v. That should help with intermittent reset issues. basically the power draw is fluctuating slightly. it may eventually hit a point where there's enough amperage draw to cause a small voltage drop where the chips no longer are able to work correctly for a split second and this causes a reset.

edit: for some reason the text was showing up tiny? I modified the font size to be legible.
