What does stand alone progressives mean?

Means it will work at home without the need of adding any additional hardware. For future Reference:

SAP - Stand Alone Progressive will work on a machine that is by itself, thus Stand-Alone. These will work in the home environment.
NAP - Near Area Progressive - will work on a networked machine, requires a local area progressive controller for the linked machines. These usually don't work on home environment.
WAP - Wide Area Progressive - will work if it is connected to the manufacturers multi-site progressive. These are usually Wheel of Fortune and the mega jackpot type games. WMS usually has some linked WAP's like Willy Wonka, Wizard of Oz, and some of the other licensed titles. These never work in a home environment, with a VERY few exceptions that require special programming for the com boards.
