Hi- I'm new here- "HOUSTON, WE HAVE A PROBLEM".
« on: October 21, 2016, 09:12:21 AM »
Hi- I'm new here- Not sure where to ask tech questions but here it goes. I picked up a Bally s5500 machine and I had a tech guy replace the battery- error code 81 and it ran like a top. I was playing it and it got over 600 credits I won. Then I did something really stupid>
I tried to clear the cpu with the jumper because I wanted to unplug it and not have the battery wear down
(I know-WHAT WAS I THINKING?) I was hoping that it would clear the payout 600 credits and I held the Pseuado coin and reset button down at the same time instead of the pseuado test button. after removing the jumper and rebooting the reels start spinning jerky and even one reel spins a  different direction. then I kept messing with it and things got worse. the led window readout had a bunch of ///.... message. then I keep trying to mess with it and get some error message "CHP" with a small / looks like- CH/P. then CLP or CL/P
Other times I would get a bunch of ///// .....  Other times I do not get any readout on the led at all.  I really messed this thing   up. Also when I slide the motherboard into the tray it doesn't look like the motherboard is going into the plugs in the back but I don't want to bend the pins by forcing it to hard. almost like it needs to go up a touch for the plugs to slide into the socket. Anyone ever screw their machine up like me? I am an idiot. :banghead:

Sorry man. Welcome to NLG. The Bally guys may not be on at the moment. I don't know anything about them so I can't help you. I can tell you the symptoms sound pretty different. On an IGT I'd say there are MPU problems. But I don't know about Ballys. Someone will be along shortly, although it sounds like you may need EMTs.   :rotfl:
