Title: bill validator appears to be dead
Post by: TGSWebDesign on November 22, 2017, 12:30:42 PM
I also have an IGT I game that upon initial boot up the bill validator failed to cycle as it normally does.  It worked yesterday and nothing has changed so I am not sure why.  I don't have a mismatch or any other error.  Just the bill validator appears to be dead.  Any help would be greatly appreciated.  :)

I would start by just checking the connections to the BV and to the boards they go to.  Sometimes they stray away from the sockets or pins just get dirty.
Also what kind of BV is in there?

I've seen bill validator heads go bad. If you have another game with the same bill acceptor, you could try swapping just the bill head, or the whole assembly..

If the BV is not cycling up boot up there is probably an issue with the BV. If you unplug the CPU and power up the machine and the BV still doesn't cycle it's either a bad BV or it's not getting power.
