Torvis Monitor Blank
« on: July 25, 2016, 04:36:23 PM »
I have a Game King I just purchased with a Torvis LTG-1750 UR monitor in it. When the machine is turned on the small light on the top of the monitor comes on yellow and never changes and the monitor is blank.
On my other I-game it comes on red then goes to green and the monitor comes to life.
Looking for ideas as to what this might mean and where to go from here.

Thanks
Bob

The yellow light usually indicates the loss of video signal. Do you have power to your BV and lights? if not, I would check the power supply. otherwise, may be bigger problem.

Yes everything else works. I swapped the monitor from another machine
And it works, so  definitely a problem with the monitor.

Does it have a backlight at all.  In total darkness, does the monitor have a "grey" look to it, or is completely dark?  If it has a grey look to it, but no video, I would suspect the AD board on the monitor.  If it is totally black, power supply, backlight, inverter.  Though the yellow light usually means no video, so I would vote for the AD board, but if you are also totally black, then it could be power supply most likely.  The power supply in all these monitors is in the monitor itself, and not part of the cabinet.

Yes Rick it is totally black no change from being off to on. Guess I'll try a power supply and see what happens,
Thanks

The power supply on these lcd's are internal to the lcd, not provided by the cabinet. The lcd runs off 120vac, so if it is totally black, then it's probably the inverter or backlight ccfl's.  The yellow light is alarming though, it could also be the A/D board as well.

I was pricing out the AD board and in inverter and at this point I think replacing the monitor will be the best solution and cheaper in the long run.
Thanks for your help Rick.

I would place my bet on the A/D board being bad, after all, the inverter gets its power from the A/D board, if it fails, power to the inverter will be disrupted. Also, bad A/D board would also cause the yellow light.

Post the number for the A to D board and I may have one. Just got done striping down two monitors that had damaged screens.
