IGT S2000 clear chip 97 won't clear memory
« on: October 16, 2017, 03:42:33 PM »
Is there some special trick or other options for clearing memory?  The 97 clear chip doesn't do anything.  Ordered from eBay - seller says it's been tested and good.  Anything I could be missing?

I put chip in and power up - no lights on board - nothing happens at all.

Thanks!!

Are you putting it in the socket the SB chip is normally in? Are you getting it oriented correctly with the notch in the chip? You posted inder S+ topic heading. Is your machine an S+ or S2000?

Should be an S2000, if it has lights. I think Cowboy is right. Check where and how the chip is in.

Took SB chip out - put clear chip in that socket oriented correctly with all pins seated

Is it a 50x mpu or 1270 enhanced? IVC00097 will usually only give you one amber light on enhanced board & may take a while to do so. IVC00224 is recommended along with KEY00045. Post a pic of your mpu. Enhanced with R board will use RBK00001.
Quality doesn't cost. It pays.

A 97 should work on that if it's a good chip. A 224 will also do the job.

I ordered the 97 from eBay. Maybe it's no good.
