Any other jukebox owners.

Bought this one a couple years ago.  AMI ROWE CD 100.

Constantly swapping out the disks though.  Thats a pain.

Current Jukes here in the house, all restored to perfection.  :-)  Love the sound of vinyl with a well rebuilt tube amplifier.

Ratspot, I love it...
I completely restored a AMI C
Everything from rebuilding the Amp, to new anodizing on the aluminum and new veneer for the cabinet finished in varnish as the original was.

Looks like it came out of the shop!
Beautiful
I really get into the history with the older pnes . Like the Rock-ola i have was the first jukebox made after WWII ended. Before that Rock-ola had re-tooled their shop to make M1 rifles for the military. This was the first one out of the gate for any jukebox manufacturer after the war.

For AMI that would be the A model or commonly called the Mother of Plastics.
This one the C model was made in 1949. Those were some happy times. I think about all the people that use to drop a dime in these boxes and listen to the music while having a drink at the local watering hole. It makes me happy to see them paly again for us to enjoy.

Speaking of dimes, mine will not take a dime. The coin acceptor is a combo for nickels, dimes and quarters. I have screwed with it until I'm blue in the face. It will accept nickels and quarters but rejects the dimes. I then spoke to someone about it and the answer was simple. I forgot that dimes were silver at the time. If I drop a sliver dime it works great. When it passes through the coin acceptor it has three test the coin needs to pass to make it to the accept side. 1st one is the size and weight, the next is magnetic content and the last is where it hits a small anvil and bounces to the accept side. A current coin bonces too far and lands on the reject side but the silver dime makes it to the accept side.

your silver dime is thinner or not as big  from age  there is nothing in that rejector that knows silver dime  from  a 1965 and newer  dime ,the dime cradle  is wore are bent a little

Incorrect, the acceptor has an anvil where the coin hits on and then bounces to the accept side. I'll post the manual if you don't believe it.

we had cig machines  that when we  the mint made non silver dimes we had to adjust roll of  dimes  the weight is  same  just the old dime roll quicker cause they are thin and bounce  different  if you  play with it, it will take new dimes ,  we done cig machines from 50,s 60,s  to take both old and new 1965 up  dime  it can be a pain but  it can be done the speed of the coin  makes in  bounce

Oh, good luck with the restoration. :applause: :applause:
It can be real fun learning about the machines and locating and finding parts.

I just acquired a Rock Ola 483 and a Wurlitzer X5, both from the late 70s era. I am having issues with each one of them, can another member recommend someone for some technical questions? Also, where is the best dealer/place to buy new 45 records with the title strips?

Thanks,

David
