Hopper pays out immediately
« on: February 06, 2017, 07:22:15 AM »
I have a new problem with my Triple Play S+ machine.
When I win a prize my hopper pays out immediately in stead of putting the it to the credits display.
I've done a clear and a B/V validator procedure.

Does anyone know what is wrong here ?

Thx,
Johan

You are playing in cash mode.  Push the credit/cash button so that it's lit.  Then whenever you win, it will add to credits instead of paying out.

When I start up the machine it pays directly after that I get the error 3300. I can't light the cash/credit button.

Put some coins in the hopper. Error 3300 means the machine needs to payout more coins but the hopper is saying it doesn't have any.

Go to this website (link below) and click on the screen where it says "IGT S+" to bring up the error code chart:

Here is part of the error code chart:

I'm sorry, I forgot to tell that I know what code 3300 means. The hopper wants to pay but the coins are stuck between the knife and the wheel. I have to fix that. I use the wrong coins for the wheel.  :banghead:
But the problem is that the machine worked fine till suddenly it pays out coins. I didn't push the cash credit button. I did a ram and BV validator clear procedure.
Shall I do this again ? Or is there another way to fix the problem ?

How did you do the ram and BV clear procedure?

I think that is something you shouldn't do unless it is absolutely needed, otherwise you will cause more problems.

you have to measure the coin you are using. we can then determine what size shelf wheel you will have to  change to.

QUIT CLEARING YOUR MACHINE, every time you clear it you wipe out all the settings and go back to a default setting, now you have to go back and reset anything you set before.

I had to clear my machine because the battery was dead. Clearing the machine went smooth and it worked. I might have pushed the cash/credit button. I'm not shure about that. But suddenly the hopper started to pay out. Tomorrow I will use bigger coins and let the hopper pay. Maybe the problem is solved. I will stop clearing the machine. It's a lot of work and might danage the chips.

The default mode for your SP chip is to pay every win out of the hopper, and you switched to that default when you performed the RAM clear. It's not a problem with your machine, it's a setting that needs to be changed to have it behave the way you want it to (all bills and wins to the credit meter by default).

But how do I change all bills and wins to the credit meter ? b.t.w. I change the coins, the hopper pays out as it should be.

I solved the problem. I put the wire from the cash/credit button on another clip, that's it  :applause:  The machine works fine again.

Thanks again for all the help.

That's great you got it working, can you give more detail on what you did to fix it, maybe post a photo. This can help others that have the same or similar problem. Thanks!

Yes that topic has been talked about on the old site.  the cash out  button is the only button that has a different wiring from all the rest.  all the other buttons use the common and the N.O. contact, the cash out uses the common and the N.C.  contact.   this will cause the machine to pay from the hopper regardless of the setting of 8_1  or the 5_0.   all S+ machines are wired like this, you can look at the switches on both sides of it and see the difference.

Here's the picture of the cash/credit switch. I put the yellow/red wire on the upper clip.

Thanks for the photo showing how you changed the wire connection. (the thing you call a "clip" on the switch we call a "terminal" but it is understood what you said).

You are welcome!

Also, when you reply to a message by clicking on "quote" it will copy the other person's comment into your new reply comment box. You need to enter your new text below all of the quoted text, that way your new comment will appear outside the blue quoted text box. Just look for the last line of quoted text and enter your new text below that. You can use the arrow keys on your keyboard to move your cursor down into the area below the quoted text. That will keep your new comment from appearing as part of the older quoted comment.
