TITO Deluxe wireless?
« on: July 01, 2017, 05:56:18 PM »
Hi Guys,

AAbout to take the jump and add a TITO to my BlueBird, AVP, and Alpha. Can this be done completely wirelessly via WIFI or do I have to have an eathernet cable plug gen in to my router?

My router is upstairs and frankly this is not an option. Hoping they can work on wifi.

Any advise would be appreciated,

Thanks

Use a wireless access point, that will let it communicate with your router wireless.

Linksys sells a wireless bridge.

Your Ethernet device plugs into the bridge as per normal.
You program the bridge to log into your wireless.

I use these on shop floors as they have a much longer range than a USB wifi stick in a PC and better throughput than USB 2.0

:agreepost: This is the only solution -

wire up all your machines to a switch then wire the switch to a wireless bridge to the network.   Wireless solutions within the slot don't work because of the material slots are made of.  Kind of like the tinfoil had I wear to sleep each night.

This is doable with a small USB-powered Wifi client dongle. I have a TED 5000 AC monitor that uses one to connect to my access point from the TED's ethernet port. I have a deluxe model TITO on the way. I'll test a couple different ones out with it. I think I may have to come up with a 5V power solution instead of the service outlet AC-USB brick. It looks like there's plenty of 12V sources around the cabinet so we'll see what I can come up with on-the-cheap.

I am using an IOGEAR micro bridge with success connected to the Bettor Slots deluxe TITO. Unsure about the range with the door closed since the AP is about 20ft from the machine currently. You could always put it in the top of the machine and get better range. The IOGEAR uses the "mini" USB connection. Stores aren't carrying those much anymore if you find you need a long one to run it to the top cabinet. It comes with a mini-USB cable for powering it, but it's fairly short (<3ft).

I pulled the micro-SD card from the TITO network board, updated the IP in the config INI file to an unused IP address and then connected the IOGEAR to my wifi and it works just fine with the Android app. There is a WPS button on it as well if you don't want to do manual configuration on a specific ESSID.

If you want to tie into main power it should be easy, there’s resistor wizards out there and you can put in 12 for the current voltage and then put in 5v as your forward voltage and it will tell you the exact resistor you will need to accomplish the task.
