Bluebird 1 and 2 Printer Question
« on: March 15, 2017, 09:26:49 PM »
So the wife has basically demanded that we get a bettor TITO (in order to add credits easily) for our bb1 and bb2 machine.  Seeing as how the machines are required to have printers for this setup to work (which they currently don't), I was wondering if anyone knew of a good source for these?  I have done some research here and a little on the web, and I am seeing that the FutureLogic Gen 2 or Ithaca 950 are likely candidates but when I hunt for one online, I come up with the IGT variants only.

Anyone have any helpful tips, tricks, or links that I should explore?

Post a WTB and one of our sponsors will most likely answer it.  You need to make sure the printer is an RS-232 printer and flashed with WMS firmware.

Unfortunately, even though I have donated through the slot giveaway as well as a one time contribution, I do not have access to create a classified post.

Can a mod please move this over to classifieds, then he can edit the original post to reflect a WTB.  I can't move the topic, only edit it.

Do you have the bracket and cabling in the machine?  Post a photo of your machine in the area where the printer is supposed to be.  Also a photo of the area behind the door where the ticket comes out.  This will help the seller determine what parts in addition to the printer you will need.

Also, although I haven't tried it, you may be able to get the Bettor TITO deluxe and add credits through the app or the service button without getting a printer.  I would have to try that on one of my machines to see if the system would indeed work without a printer installed though, maybe somebody else here has tried that?

Here's some pictures of the units.  They both have wiring that is not hooked up that look like they belong to a printer as well as what appears to be mounting brackets.

I had asked in the TITO thread in the past if a printer was required to use the TITO Deluxe, and they seemed to think it was required, but if you're willing to wrench around and see if it will work without it, I would give you gobs of fictitious internet points!

I will try it tonight on my bb2.  I was going to make a game change on it and might as well test my theory.  I will post back with results.  Also it looks like all you need are the printers and mounting screws.  I'm sure someone will be able to set you up with some.  They are not all that expensive (under $50 most of the time).

That would be amazing if I can get away with just printers.  Like I said, the hardest part is simply finding ones with WMS compatibility.  Makes me wonder why IGT are far more prevalent in the market though.

Anyways, if you find that it works without the printer, minus having some cool tickets printed out with my name on it or something, that would be even better.

I patiently await your results!

Printers are actually NOT required for the TITO boards to work.  They will link after setup and function with no printer installed.  The Standard TITO board ($59) can add credits by pushing the service button on the button deck.  Then when you cash out the machine will just go to a handpay.  The Deluxe TITO board ($89) will allow you to control many functions on your machine via your SmartPhone or Tablet, one of which is adding credits and again a printer does not need to be installed in the machine. Some of our customers just want their machines to be "free play" and don't really care if the printers work or not and even some of those do not even have bill validators installed.  Both versions of the TITO board can work just in that way.

That's amazing to hear!  I'm about to place my order, but I did have one last question; do you have a unit compatible with the Bally Alpha v20 machines?  I have a Game Maker HD machine that would benefit from this upgrade as well.
