32" screen for Bally v22/32
« on: October 11, 2017, 01:55:02 PM »
Hi... I hope someone here can help.  My v22/32 arrived with a broken 32" touchscreen.   (no damage to the wood crate that it was shipped in) The broken glass scratched the Tatung LCD pretty good.  I sent back the entire screen to the seller and the replacement Tovis screen is defective.  It is very dim with a dark section at the bottom.  The contrast and brightness controls do absolutely nothing.

Ceronix doesn't carry it.  I tried LA slots and Patriot.  Am I totally screwed?  :(

Isn't the shipping company insurance or the seller going to take care of this?

Seller says FedEx Freight won't do anything because there was no damage to the crate.  I'm at the point now where I am willing to just put out the money to get a new screen.

Someone else suggested that I may be able to get the screen repaired by replacing the back lighting. (CCFL or LEDs not sure what it has)  I guess that is worth a try as a last resort but buying a new one is choice #1 right now.  If you know someone that could fix it, please pass me their info.  I would really appreciate it. Thanks.

I found brand new LCD panels that match both model numbers. How hard is it to swap the touch screen glass?  What does new glass cost?

I purchased a brand new panel tonight.  $175 plus shipping.
While taking the old panel off the bracket, I damaged a cable while disconnecting it.

Can someone tell me what type of connector this is and what size pins I need to crimp onto the wire?
Also is it worth the effort to move the touch screen to the new panel or should I just get a new one?

Thanks!

Just FYI, this connector is a Molex MicroBlade.   I had originally thought is was a Molox PicoBlade.
