That makes the most sense to me.
My next probably dumb question is... can I swap the mains out with my newer ones or would it be better to just post a WTB for that particular main? I'm not up on mains...

Much older (1994) than my other Gamemaker (1999), but I don't see why the card flip sound would appear after the Bonus poker game... and then go away.

It could have been a glitch (bug) in the software that got corrected in the newer software once someone noticed it and reported it.

Mains swapped...finally
And now my card-flip sound has returned full time!  :applause:
Funny, the old mains had "bad" written on them and then crossed out.
The last person who serviced this machine was Joey!  :propeller:

Did you install the same version mains or a different one? Do you think the checksum on the chips you removed changed?

No - I got them from member Ricker. I'm guessing the - # at the end is the version?
The old ones were -20 and the ones he send me were -24.
Everything went fine although jurisdiction stayed locked. I think there's another chip in there for that but it all works fine.

Gary

I haven't touched my extra CEI mpu's in a while. I need to list them on ebay. I did sell one and now he needs help but I can't get him to post here! He's not computer-savvy. He send me probably 10 pictures of various mpu's from his CEI machines. I'll be writing him back soon and will strongly encourage him to post in the forum here, where he'll get faster help... from you! Ok and hopefully SolidSilver will chime in too.  :applause:

That funny..  :24:   Not computer-savvy, but yet want to work on a computer operated Video Poker machine.. Maybe he has a MPU and tray for the one I have?

I know this is an older topic. But, I have a Game Maker/Gambler's Choice machine that does the same thing.  The mains are:

V7M100005305-17
V7M400005305-17

It will have a flip card sound on Black Jack but, not on any of the poker games. The rest of the game works fine.  So, how difficult would it be to find replacement mains?  Maybe newer ones that would have a flip card sound?

Also, my game does not have any game eprom in position P10.

Hey hey,

17 mains are unique. Made for the Gamblers Choice, as were the games. You cannot change mains and use your game chips as the game chips were developed for the 17 mains only and used in foreign markets mainly. Does your money/credit total say "Bank"?  Many peeps keep p-10 empty if they change games often. Since you have card sounds on the blackjack, it seems the card flip sounds are programed into the game chip, and maybe not enough memory for sounds on other games? I do not even know if you can change mains and game chips and work with your board as I do not know if a Gamblers Choice board was made different. Not much help for you, but a little info. The Gamblers Choice game chips will not work with other mains, but some of your games are unique and not available for the other mains.

Richard,

Wow, thanks for your reply. You Sir are correct about the "Bank".  I just thought that was there since this game does not use a hopper.  So, I guess at this point I just learn to deal with the no flip card sound.  Also, thanks for letting me know about the game proms as I was going to try to add one in P10

Try adjusting your sound volume.  The “flip” sound is flat so it is almost inaudible at low volume.  If you get the flip sound at full volume, adjust the volume to your preference.  Hope this helps

You can add a game to P-10 if compatible with mains. Have to turn on game. If game is not compatible with your 17 mains you will know.  A posted picture of the games on your machine would be of interest, as those of us with "USA casino" Gamemakers will see that some of your pokers are not avail. for our platform. Now I am old and I think most/all of what I posted is correct, but I have been wrong in the past.

I remember I had sound issues a couple years back on my bartop game maker where some sounds were there and some weren't and it was the sound chip on the board that was going out. I'm at work now and can't get a chance to look at the chip number but I had posted here on NLG, maybe before the site was moved.
Hope this helps, Jim
