Payout Winner Bell
« on: August 31, 2016, 04:44:36 PM »
Hello All, I was curious about how many of your slot machines have a working winner bell? Can you make a switch on the inside of the case to turn the ringer on/off ? I think it would be a nice feature so you can play your slots later at night without ticking off the wife!

I used to just stuff a matchbook under the clapper. But if you want to you could put in a switch or maybe wire it into the change light which is also 6 volts...?

I think there is adjustment screw under the cover.  Squeeze cover inwards and pull cover away from mounted plate.  Adjusts the tension, in turn the how hard it strikes bell.   If I get a chance I will give it a few turns in each direction.

like Old Reno's switch idea or maybe stick a rubber pad on bell, Got the cover off and turn the top screw down to reduce the ring?

Hey, you learn something new everyday. Never looked into adjusting the bell.
I have one of my machines wired in to the service switch just for kicks.
So if someone is playing and they hit a low payouts. I'll casually hit the button, and they think they hit the big one.

The screw is pretty tight on the  ringer assembly and I don't want to strip the brass screw, going with a rubber pad with velcro to use as needed....works very good! still would like to wire something down the line.... David using the outside Push Button is a great idea!!  but not on my 742 (button not on door)
