old Sigma slant top got it going but what a trip!

The machine had no drop in coin assembly, just a empty "S" plug where it went.

It had what looked like a "new" DBV145 but every image on the monitor had a pink hue.

Got the monitor working like new by replacing the transistors and caps on the neck board, the bigger transistors get so hot that the traces on the board open up so ran extra buss wire from each transistor leg to it's destination.

The game was a Deuces Wild Bonus. Went into setup to see if the Bill Validator was enabled and it wasn't so did that BUT the software said DBV35 instead of the usual "enabled" message.

This was the first clue as to why the customer got the game for free.

The second clue was the DBV145 would accept bills all of the way into the stacker but not give any credits so I knew the 145 worked but was not communicating with the game board. DBV error kept coming up on screen.

The existing deuces software was so old it would not recognize the DBV145 someone had installed in it, just an older DBV35.

Dug out another board with Double Bonus poker on it and installed that, removed the stacker switch and box in top switch and tied their wires together.

This time I got a "enabled" message instead of a "DBV 35" message when enabling the BV.

Game took bills and credited them properly.

Enabled "pay table on screen" feature and the after removing the cash out switch the game was up and running 100%.

Top glass still says Deuces but customer didn't care, he just wanted a working machine.
Let them that don't want any, have memories of not getting any.
