IGT s+ error code 21

   I have a S+ double  diamond machine set up for tournament play and has a code 21. There is no coin mec. or hopper installed. When I open and close the door the code will clear and the reels will start to move and then stop and the code 21 returns. How do I clear the code and return to  tournament play

Did you try the JP reset key with the door open?

yes, with the door open and I turn the reset key  0000 comes up in the winner paid and the credits .when I close the door every thing clears and the reels start to spin and then stops and code 21  reapears

when you say no coin mech installed, does that mean no coin mech or no coin mech assembly??   if the coin mech assembly is still in there, and connected to the machine then the optics could be causing the code 21.

their is no assembly

I would check the bypass plug and pins and connections. there has to be some connection to the plug where the coin mech. assembly would have connected.

let me start over I believe  its a s+. The reel prom  chip is marked s-plus reel tourm  1-64 and the game prom is s-plus game sp557 (1/512) and the machine is a slant top. The wire harness that would go to the coin assembly I unplugged down by the power supply  and made no difference . The machine was working fine last night till I tried to change the play timer .I forgot to reset the 9.0 to 9.1 tournament mode. Also both lights on top are flashing and so is the change button.

I just got a couple of slant tops, and 1 had a 21 code. I found that top wasn't closing properly. the hinge at the top can be warped a bit, try pushing down on right corner at the top as you close the top. seems to work well for me.

I got the code 21 to clear, I had to install a  coin mech assembly.
