Author Topic: Igt real touch top screen white. Denver Duck  (Read 2551 times)

Igt real touch top screen white. Denver Duck

I found the battery  dead in the top computer and I also notices at this time there were 5 bad caps. I replaced the 5 caps and installed a new battery. When I power the machine I can here the computer post with it's beep noise however I get a white screen on the LCD. I did not break any wires or hack anything during the process. If I hook a keyboard to the computer and reboot it with CTRL+ALT+Del I can see the white screen go blank and then return to White.


Any thoughts on this would be appreciated.

I'd check the caps you installed. Direction and values. White screen is unusual.

Qbert,  I know Dragster73 personally. He does circuit board repair, so I don't see him making a mistake with the caps.. Any ideas what might be causing the problem? Is something needed to reboot the top computer? I myself know nothing about the reel touch machines..

The top boxes are old and all of the plugs are very fragile so I would try reseating all of the plugs going to the board that you did the repairs on. I will run a reel touch to failure before I touch them because they are so fragile. Pay specific attention to the plug with the very fine wires as that is the video section.
Reseating the memory sticks but that is not the problem here.
Dragster you can see by my moniker we may have more in common.

The problem turned out to be the small video card mounted to the Mother Board, Even though I did not touch it other than to remove the small plug from it but  it was toast.


I put a new one in it and it's good to go now.
