Title: How many sizes are there for 5 reel setups

I have come across 2" or just a bit smaller  and 2-1/2" or is it 2-1/4".
What is the deal on the various 5 reel sizes?

There are 2 sizes. 2" are non washable, and the 2 1/4 are washable.

Actually, the 2" were made in both cleanable and non..........The 2 1/4" were cleanable.

The first 2" that IGT issued were not cleanable, but later 2" were cleanable.  The difference being they were laminated so they could be cleaned. I have both versions of 2" in my collection of strips.

I believe, my experience,

There are two sizes that I'm aware of,
The 2in  measure 21/4 from side to side. I only have one set. Double Diamond Free Spin. These are non-washable.
the 21/2 measure 21/2 from side to side.I have only three sets. Double 3x4x5x Diamond, Double Lucky Strike, Double Stars. These are all washable.
I have found out so far 5-reel strips are a Crap Shoot on Width & Washable.
These get very confusing.

2" and 2 1/4" are made. I have seen both in washable. Only 2" in non. 2 1/4 reels come in both bulb and LED, while I have only seen 2" in bulb.


Here's a pic of some strips with a tape. They are actually like a 1/8-1/16 off true 2" or 2 1/4" but..

I'm a bit of a bullshitter, I made mine out of a 2 1/4" set, IGT didn't make LED in a 2" reel

I'm sure they look/looked great. Mod up a 3Reel set and you will have orders!

I tried it once. The reels for each are so completely different it can't be done

Actually, if you sent me a set of each in the 5 reel I could probably put a set together for you. And the new washable strips I got from an IGT supplier looked great installed on them

Hmm. I will keep that in mind. - I sold all of my 5R kits and decks/reels recently, but they occasionally come around.
