Changing the system has always worked for me, from 3 reel to 5 reel S-2000. I have not run into a game yet that I could not swap out the system and permanently cure the problem, except one time I lost the right speaker, even with the media lite board and #42 simm. So I tied the two upper speakers together and instant magnificent mono, I mean, come-on can you really hear stereo separation with the legacy sound? Very easy to swap to the early system, time is money, and I put enough time in trying to figure out the netplex problem, so I gave up. Not important enough to the home game room if you ask me. Every time I sell a game with the enhanced system I am always worried about getting that phone call from my customer saying that the machine is flashing netplex link is down. I am trying to stock up on early mpu's and mother boards, I still have about a half dozen in the shop.
