S2000 Bill accepter Issue
« on: April 09, 2014, 08:20:55 PM »
I have an s2000 with an enhanced board. I was receiving many netplex errors and the bill acceptor kept burring out. I replaced the mother board today and did a keychip. Now the machine powers up fine and the bill acceptor makes the start up noise. Machine is ready to play, but the acceptor does not light to accept a bill or ticket. Any advice?

I did not. Is that required to get the bill acceptor to work? What about the ticket printer, anything I need to set up for that? Also since I am doing a key chip, can you tell me how to change the odds on the machine?

Every time a s2000 is turned on it wiil auto-configure all netplex devices, only time you need to auto-configure is you changed a device while it is powered on.

Things to check for Bill Acceptor:

3 Options
   3.1 Machine Options
      3.1.4 Limits
Bill Limit must be greater than zero, settings that I have seen $1000.00 or $3000.00
   3.3 Bill Acceptor
      3.3.1 Enable / Disable
         Bill Acceptor Enabled
      3.3.2 Bill Tilts
         Bill Tilts Soft

Printer I am assuming you do not have a TITO system as well
NO Credits on the machine before using the key chip!

7.2 Key Chip Config II
   7.2.2 Printer
      7.2.2.1 Enable / Disable
         Printer Enabled
      7.2.2.2 Restricted Tickets
         Print Restricted Tickets Enabled

Thanks for the tip. I key chipped the machine 2 more times and followed "foster" instuctions and TITO instuctions. This bill acceptor will just not light up or pull in bills or tickets. I have even tried one from another machine.

Look behind the BV and make sure it is connected properly
Also S2000 may take a while to enable a Bill Acceptor after the door is closed, etc. and other times it will enable right away.
No rhyme or reason why it happens.

Last one I had that was doing the same thing that you experiencing I had to do as Foster said.
3.3 Bill Acceptor
      3.3.1 Enable / Disable
That fixed mine where an Auto Config would not.

If your Bill acceptor makes noise when turned on or the cash box is removed & installed then you are good to go.
I have a machine that is not L.E.D. & the Bill Acceptor  lights are very dim & almost impossible to see.
If your wiring is correct, your Board is working, the bulbs are working & clean.
I would  suggest you may want to purchase a L.E.D. set up from one of  Great N.L.G. Vendors or Members.

I have tried everything everyone has suggested on this post. Still will not pull in bills. Again, when I pull the unit out and put i back in, the motors do run for a sec or so.

Have you tried another Bill Acceptor in this machine?

Are you sure you have the cash can fully installed?

In other words did you fully insert cash can into the Bill Acceptor chassis?

I would try installing a complete working acceptor including the inner chassis piece, this will eliminate an issue the acceptor harness, or other issue.

Four screws secure the inner chassis in the Bill Acceptor outer Chassis or housing
Two on left outside of the outer acceptor housing and two from inside located behind the cash can  and three harness connections.
I would secure the other acceptor in place with one screw in the left side while testing. they are top heavy and it may fall forward if not secured.

Also while your in key chip menu you can change the payback percentage it is 7.1.2 game selection (must enable with key chip first)
ranges about 98% to about 85% depending on base chip used.

At this stage, if it were me, I'd get the clear chip out and start from scratch.

Clearing a S2000 just like clearing a S+ is not the cure for every thing that happens.

That is a point I and others have been saying since 2006.
When my S2000 new to me in 2007 would not get past a EPROM or coin in jam error a clear chip didn't do any good.
I am still not sure what I did that finally solved the issue.

if swapping out a complete Bill Acceptor does not solve it, and he has made sure he has it enabled. then I suspect a harness issue or a mpu issue.
