I-Game Ticket Printer Issue
« on: December 23, 2016, 09:59:00 PM »
Well here is an odd one; I just picked up an I-Game from someone and whenever I hit the cash out button, it hand pays, even if it's just a few credits.

I was chatting with Jim from BettorSlots and it seems I may need a Key 28 chip to get into the settings (which I was able to get through Jim), however, I don't even know where to start troubleshooting this. Could it be the printer itself? Or do I have a setting off somewhere? Limits are set to the max they can be.

Here is a vid of it happening: https://youtu.be/nhbaz1LfPAg

Thanks to any help provided!

After key chipping and you get to the setup menu, go to machine options, peripheral devices setup and make sure the thermal printer is enabled. You can also change what prints on the ticket by pressing site ID setup.

In addition to enabling the printer under devices in the key chip menu I would add that you need to go to COMM and then make your way to validation voucher out and set the option to "standard".  This will allow the printer to work in standalone mode.  Also knowing in advance that you have an 044 setup you should know that this creates an SAS link error which will not stop the game from running or the printer from printing but your top candle will flash on and off.  Basically with these settings enabled the machine is looking for a player tracking system to link with so thus the error.

If you plan to use the printer in standalone mode then my advice would be to remove the top candle bulb as it will drive you insane. The other way around this is to install a TITO board with its required and slightly different settings which basically fools the machine into thinking its connected to a player tracking system and the error goes away and the candle will stop flashing. You also will have the benefit of the machine now being able to accept tickets instead of just printing them.
