LCD and CRT Monitor Repair Tech Support / Re: Atari arcade Asteroids monitor dead -« Last post by Bruce G on Today at 02:22:50 PM »Thanks much Chris - having a source for parts is a huge help. I did a quick look at the EHT / flyback box - It's obviously had a hard life. I need to order caps for it, but the semis on it check out. With little to zero experience with these, I need all the help I can find. I pulled the X-Y deflection board and power section. The board looks good with no wonky repairs. I''ll recap it and check the other components as time allows. I found the the X channel power amplifiers (2N3716 and 2N3792 ) were both dead shorted. I have those parts on hand. BUT - I don't like the idea of just replacing parts and then firing this thing back up. These semiconductors are getting expensive and I tend to feel there has to be a reason for the component failures. Because one channel is bad - that would seem to eliminate the regulator as the cause of the fault. If it had been the regulator board that caused the failure, I would think that both channels would have cooked. I did test the heater of CRT for continuity ( it shows 3.2 Ohm ) but I have no other way of testing it - at lease that I'm aware of. So I feel like I'm flying blind. I really don't want to waste money destroying replacement parts.

Bally Reel Games / Desperately need a sound chip for a Bally 6000 Beach Party« Last post by ucanwin on Today at 02:02:10 PM »Hi,
Help badly needed. I am in need of a Bally 6000 Beach Party slot U-3 Bonus Feature sound chip, or at least a part number for the correct chip, or information on someone who might have this machine that I can get some information on how the Bonus feature should work. Regards, Jerry 6
Bally Reel Games / Re: Opening door on Bally E2303-4« Last post by Chris-socal on Today at 01:56:40 PM »Most of the door locks can be replaced with off-the-shelf barrel locks but you can buy "keyed alike" on ebay. That makes it easy. I think I saw a Bally 6000 specific barrel lock on ebay. I'm sure our supporting businesses sell the locks and keys also. You might want to post a WTB and I'm sure someone will jump in.
As for the reset key....did they drill that lock out too? Almost all electronic slot machines have the same reset key (2341) I'm not sure about the lock mechanism itself. They are usually intact on machines. The keys are readily available on Ebay or from our supporting shops. Chris 7

IGT S and S-plus Reel Games / Re: Pressing Button to Add Credits For Free Play on S-Plus Machines« Last post by twinfire on Today at 12:35:41 PM »Hi Pitts256, well, for me I simply got caught up in life. My slots and the project have been put aside for the time being, but do still however plan on implementing the coin simulator as time permits.
The thought of using that 3pin connector for adding credits to the machine is very intriguing since the coin mechanism could stay operational. Have you given any thought to that? |
