Sigma SG300 Triple Jackpot Treasure Tunnel
« on: January 13, 2017, 04:34:54 PM »

ok... here goes.... my treasure tunnel will initialize, rotate the reels, then get stuck on " NOW SELF TESTING WAIT FOR A WHILE" and stay there (forever if I let it).
Now for the fun part- When it's cold outside the game will go through the test then it will say RAM DATA WRONG- TURN RESET KEY ONCE" when I do this it says "TURN RESET KEY TWICE", then the game will load and fire right up. I can leave it on and play it for as long as I want to, but if I turn it off I'm back to square one.
It doesn't get cold in Tx so I won't be able to play it much if I have to wait on the weather....
In my infinite  :Scratch-Head:  wisdom I came up with the idea of placing a wrapped ice pack over the chipsets in the board for 5-10 minutes. No worries I wrapped it to keep moisture off the components. Remove it? And viola! The game cycles through to the RAM DATA message and I can fire up the game and play it. I've had success with this method several times to get to play the game, but I would rather find a solution instead of an ice pack patch... any thoughts? Suggestions? "Help me Obi Wan Kenobi, you're my only hope!"

On another note.... Does anyone know where I can acquire the wiring harness for the WBA 13 SS validator for this machine?
Also looking for a bill guide for the WBA 13 that fits this devil

UPDATE- I now have all the wiring schematics for Sigma Games and built the wiring harness to run the WBA Bill Validator so that work now.  I will be building more if anyone needs this particular harness, complete with the correct plugs to fit original connections in the machine. Still looking for a bill guide though...  I have adapted an IGT bill guide to work in the machine.  It ain't perfect but it works!

Thanks

I came across your old post from earlier this year, you may have solved your machine's problems but just in case......

It sounds like you have confirmed that one of the chips on your mpu board is acting up when it gets warm/hot. This does happen to electronic chips. Repair shops use canned cooling spray (one brand is called "Freeze-It" ) to spray one chip at a time to help find the bad chip.

If these are chips in sockets (game software chips, cmos ram chip, etc) that you cooled and the game began working then I'd try getting replacement chip/chips. Post a photo of them with a WTB message, hopefully someone will have them.

That's great about making the wiring cables for the bill validator and getting it to work. You can also post a WTB for the Sigma bill acceptor guide, or include it in the same WTB as the chips you need. Also keep an eye on the Classified Ads area here on NLG for any Sigma machines getting parted-out. Here is a recent ad from Jim at Midwest Slots, good chance he has the bill guide that you need:
