SO i was wanting to start programming my own validation server for TITO first then work on a Player tracking system. I’m gonna have a bb2e and I’m gonna get some bb1s later from was. Where do I start to create the database. Do I need to learn c#? ANd what equipment do I need can this all be done through Ethernet. Is anybody out there who has some code to help me out. I know its a big project for a newbie. Help in anyway is always appreciated.

C# is Good, but C++ will most likely be your best bet. It seems to be the way to go for most things. i personally use C#, but to each there own. You will be able to program in either language and get the same, or close to the same result. As for sample code, im afraid i cant help you there. i would suggest downloading one of the programs here that include the source code and reverse engineer it your self. that's the way i tend to learn best. Good luck!

Have you looked at the State of Montana SAS Guide?
It for the most part is word for word from the IGT SAS implementation guide
It is one of the pinned or stickied topics in this board

I will answer questions to best of my memory, its been 4 years since I looked at my C++ or C# source code.

I had not put the C# code up because it was work in progress type thing and switched to Arduino because I didn't want a serial cable running from my computer area to my S2000.

Not to hijack, but cant one use a Serial Ethernet Converter? im assuming (yea, we know what that means) thats how its done real world. thus eliminating the need for learning arduino code. as im under the impression that arduino is intended to be a testing/proof of concept platform before production. Im just spit-balling here, most of the folks here have much more experience with gaming machines than i ever will.

[/size]What im thinking is you could program in whatever language in TCP, or whatever protocol to communicate with the serial converter.  at least thats the direction im headed.

It's been a while since the early days of SAS, once the TITO products became available, people just bought those instead of continuing to pursuit their own SAS.  Look in the old site, that's probably where the programs are, posted as attachments in messages.
