Title: tatung monitor issue- VT1440S
Post by: puckhead on August 21, 2016, 08:06:56 AM
bally game maker, 7200 board. took the monitor to a local monitor repair guy. he wrestled with it a while and thinks its good. he had to make a plug to hook up his test generator, mumbled something in russian about not knowing the exact frequency.  sometimes with the test generator the screen looked ok, others i could see the vertical black band, but not a prominent as in the pics.  i tried another game maker mpu board, same exact image . adjusting pots dosnt help.

should i try to re-cap it ?  send the chassis out?   there is a little side board that i assume is for the touchscreen? i has to cut a 3 wires from the chassis to that board to remove it, there was no connector. i will make one.

also, i didnt notice till after, the yoke connector has two positions on the chassis. i think it was on the top one, they are more shiny, but doesnt it matter?

thanks

Hello
By all means recap it. It will cure the shaded bar problem Im sure. Also the two yoke connectors are for reversing the Vertical and Horizontal pins so you can moubt it upside down like in a slanttop.

i did re-cap it, and it works. i had another thread open and closed it out , but this one slipped by.  good to know whats what the dual connector is. i got it right the first time so it wasnt an issue.

thanks much
