Sircoma Electromechanical Reel Slot...Bally or IGT parts?
« on: July 31, 2016, 04:10:42 PM »
Bought a big ( 6 ft X 4 ft....more or less) reel slot machine.....does not have manufacturer / date tag anywhere.....its fairly clean, missing parts & is basically just a novelty piece right now.......it came from Maywood Park Horse Race track but the front glass shows Western Hotel & Casino.....glass corner says SIRCOMA........researching a bit...given SiRedd history, the opening of Western Casino in 1970....i think this is BallyElectro Mechanical dollar coin slot from 70's as it has some coil solenoids, leaf type contact points, springs & levers.....missing hopper and possibly hopper wire harness .....does have several big plugs just hanging so im guessing its missing some kind of payout  module.....any help on getting more info & parts.....think I'm going to dive in and research Bally Electro mechanical..........PIC#2 - 2 plugs make me think there is some kind of a payout module or something, maybe was bolted to back wall there where 2 holes are located in pic.....PIC#3 - shelf next to the reels I believe is for hopper because the payout chute  on door lines up there, and there is a wiring connector mounted on the back wall, like its for a hopper harness.....pure speculations at this time

The index plates looks like they might be Old Mills or Jennings see if you can find any part numbers on anything and post pictures of the part numbers maybe we can do some research and figure out what it is from different types of part numbers

I don't know what the "index plates" are.....lol
Your indexing plates are the 3 pieces of steel to the right side of the third reel. See of you can see any numbers and or letters on them.
Please remember to make a donation to NLG for mine/our help in repairing your machines problem.. Your donations help keep this site on line.
And remember...
If it's jammed, force it.. If it breaks, it needed to be replaced anyways...

Reel stop index plates are those metal disc that look like saw blades. It appears the payout is determined by the holes in the sides of these discs. Looks to be only two or three payouts. Single bars, double bars and maybe any bars. The hanging plugs most likely went into the back of the payout device.
All the relays mounted on the interior side I would imagine worked like the reel wipers on a Bally machine.
Curious about the hopper though, most likely it had a payout step up unit attached all though there is plenty of room to have one mounted elsewhere. The only thing is those two hanging plugs. If they both went into a hopper I would assume the payout unit was attached.
Is there a power supply transformer?
Just for kicks I would release the reel stops and set up a payout then look to see if the payout index arms moved into position. Then trace any electrical contacts related to the index arm to see where they might lead.

Note the above is speculation based on the photos and I may be completely off on my theory.

Good Luck and keep us posted.
