Slow moving wheels
« on: April 08, 2017, 02:31:47 PM »
I have a mechanical 3 wheel slot machine that the wheels just started moving verrrrrry slow. We don't play it very often and I suspect dirt or dust has something to do with it. I am afraid to clean and grease it in the wrong places. Any suggestions are greatly appreciated. I am a computer guy and very handy with my hands so I am not afraid to tackle any procedure. I assume this has to be a dirt/dust problem as it worked before. I live in Carson City Nevada where we have more dust than I think anywhere. Help. I would like to use this machine again. It is pretty old and needs to see the light of day again. I don't know who the mgf is as there are no markings other than Smith's Crystal Bay North Shore Club on it.
Thanks,
Larry

Not sure, but the reels look to be similar to a Jennings machine.
Can you post a photo of the front.

I did post a picture of the front, plus 6 other views, but I guess you can only post 1 picture at a time. The front won't tell you anything as it only says Smith's North Shore Club, Lake Tahoe. No other markings anywhere. The coin slot says HANKELL Reno Nevada.
Thanks

You can post more photos.

Under (Attach) and the first browse button there is a line (more attachments) in light green.  Use that to add photos.

Howdy,
Is definitely is not a Jennings, It is a Pace or a later model Ace. Most likely a Pace.
I would take the reels out of the machine and pull them apart and clean and oil the shafts.
A repair book would be of great help!.

For a Manual try:  www.coinslots.com
They may have it or something close. Make sure to ask them.
          Good Luck,

Try eBay for the repair manual, might be something for your machine.

Cleaning the reels, don't really need to take them apart.
Use a cleaning type lubricant, PB blaster brand makes a good assortment.
Spray every moving part, but be careful to not get any on the reel strips as it may stain them.
Apply the lubricant / cleaner and let it sit over night. You might want to block up one side as to
cause the fluid to run through the parts and shafts.

Howdy,
HANKELL Reno Nevada. Could be the name of the Slot Operate Route Company.
Who service and provide the machine on a percentage cut.
