Jennings tic tac toe
« on: August 18, 2017, 02:36:45 PM »
Hi, new to mechanical machines! I have acquired a Jennings Sun Chief Tic Tac Toe and the pay off is not correct with the pay card. I have watched videos on how the operation works, but have lots of questions. First of all, how do you tell that the reel strips match the cogs that control the payout? My guess is that the strips don't match the payout card or are the correct ones for the reels that they are on. Secondly, not sure what the sequence is for the payout levers. On one video, they show from right to left, Cherry,Orange, Plumb,Bell, Bar. The Tic Tac Toe lever (when on 3 lines) is the end lever which goes through all 3 plates and pays the jackpot. Is there somewhere I can see which fruit levers are in what order for my machine? The problem I am having is the machine pays on a Single Orange on the first location, almost every time.
Any insight would be appreciated.
Thanks, Jim

Since I am not getting any response to this, maybe I can simplify the question. Is there a cross reference somewhere that tells me that the reel strips match the metal cogs that the payout levers go into?
Thanks, Jim

Not too many people here work on these older slot machines.. The ones that do, are not on everyday.. Many your best bet is to find your self a manual for the Jennings machines. I'm sure if you Google Jennings tic tac toe slot machine manual, something might pop up.. There are a few company's out there that just work on older machines.. It's possible that your reels are not install in the proper order or the payout slides have a problem..
Please remember to make a donation to NLG for mine/our help in repairing your machines problem.. Your donations help keep this site on line.
And remember...
If it's jammed, force it.. If it breaks, it needed to be replaced anyways...

That's a good idea, it seems to pay out on oranges that doesn't match the payout card at all. I will see if I can find a manual online and maybe see if there is someone in my area that works on Jennings that I could pick their brain.
thanks Jim

There are a couple places out in Cal that do work on older slots, but I'm not sure where they are to you. Once again that's something you can find out with a Google search.

if you look at the disks "saw blades".... there are holes punched in each disk, look at the picture, you will see rings of holes, each ring is for a particular symbol , fingers in a row, each finger represents a different payout amount   for example if a disc stops in front of the 2 coin payout finger ...that finger will pass through the hole and press a lever at the bottom of the finger, that lever will release the 2 coin slide, paying you 2 coins for a cherry

so you can "read" each disk and see how it compares to your reel strips

Here is a link to the Jennings manual - I can't find a way to upload it to NLG.

Sorry I have not had a chance to post pictures. I think that the main problem with the machine is it needs to be lubed. I played it for a while and it seemed to work correctly, until last night when it payed out 18 coins on a non payout combination. I have left it in that spot until I can take it apart to see where the wheels are lined up. When I get some time on the machine, I will post the pictures of where it is now and maybe someone can spot the problem.
Thanks, Jim
