Looks like a bally electro mechanical from first looks. We need pictures of the inside to tell.

...why theres a slot for quaters and theres no where for them to go ...
Why do you say there is nowhere for them to go? It has a hopper. If they are just dropping to the tray, something is not working.

I think what he means is that, in addition to the normal dollar coin slot at the player's right hand, there appears to be
a second quarter-size slot, exactly opposite on the left side. There's also an odd recess just below the lock on the
oddball jackpot mechanism above the reels that could be a coin-insert slot.

Deeply weird! Better pics would help.

Interesting. Is there actually a physical slot on the left side? I don't see one on the inside of the door picture. Perhaps the glass came from another machine? The one on the top looks more like a dispenser than a drop slot. Like if you win a certain combo, one of those coins/tokens drops into the slot. Sort of like the ones they used to have in Vegas where you could win the casino "$10 token".

You're probably right, Tex. This machine may be an assemblage of odd parts.
The "jackpot" dispenser is certainly an add-on.

And is that the Games of Nevada logo I see just to the right of the coin slot?

Yeah, definitely looks like an old (early - mid 80's) "Games of Nevada" EM token machine.  Here's some pictures of my old 5 reel with inside door and relays.  Looks very similar.

I "enhanced" the top right part of the picture. I see what looks like a drop in slot, which makes sense when seeing the long coin chute right there.
I can't see anything clear on the left though...
As for that other panel, yes... maybe it was just from another machine and just happened to fit!

Blurry cropped pic,  but the chrome on the side of the slot compared to the panel seems different...

If I remember correctly the top right part of your enhanced photo that "drop in" slot is really just a "catch" for the token which comes in from the left.  It's been quite a while so I hope this is the same machine I am thinking of.  :Scratch-Head:

That game is original and I have one just like it.
The large coin is for silver dollars and they run through an escalator like the old mechanical machines. When the silver dollars drop into a different type of hopper that has a conveyor belt and moves them to a chute that goes into the coin box in the stand. The machine can also be coined up with the new quarter sized dollars in the small coin accepter and they drop into a conventional hopper in the bottom of the machine. This hopper is the one that pays any and all winnings from either the silver dollars or from the small coin, Susan B Anthony size coins.

As some may remember, I sold a lot of my machines to get down to a reasonable level, however this is one machine I kept.
But it could be for sale.

Neon,  Is the slot at the top a coin in for silver dollars ?  If it is then it is not the same machine that used to be around and had tokens come out at certain times (can't remember payoffs for tokens or if just random).  The tokens could be used for gifts at the casino gift shops.  Harrah's was a good one for that and so was the Sands.  However, always took a lot more tokens than I ever got   :banghead:

Large slot at the top is for coin in.
The machine can be coined up with the large or small coins.
Large coins in move one coin in the escalator to the left and pushes one coin out the top of the escalator that drops into a med-machine hopper with that conveyor belt system.

this last post is correct silver dollers up top.i tryed quaters and they get rejected to the pay out pan.i dont have any of the new dollers but i get some and try them.i see if you use them they dont just fall in the bottem of the machine the slot makes then fall into a hole in the bottem of the machine where i guess they went into a collector box probaly built into the stand.

So, who is the manufacturer? I can't read it on the glass.

Roz, This is a partial answer to your question-

Here is an interesting picture of the Sundance West casino that was located on Fremont St in Las Vegas for about 5 years back in the late 1970's. Notice the top line of their marquee, it says "Try our DOLLAR STAMPEDE". That's the name of this slot machine. It's as if they had this slot machine custom made for them, so the machine's lower glass says "Sundance West Dollar Stampede". Also, the marquee second line mentions the same 97% payback that is written on the front of this machine.

Going by the writing on the glass that can be seen behind the coin entry ("------- Games") in what looks like Bally style writing, and the coin tray that definitely looks Bally, maybe this machine was made by Bally Games for the Sundance West casino.
EDIT: not Bally, it is made by Games of Nevada, see later posts in this thread

The casino called "Mermaids" is now located at the former Sundance West location.

Well, on the reel glass, there is a name, I just can't make it out. Looks to start with a G, like Genus maybe???

We were fortunate to spend some time with an older Bally employee, and apparently, it was quite common for custom games to be made. Apparently, it was little more than "Send it up to Artwork and they will make a glass", on an already approved machine/pay scale. He reminisced about "Waiting for the Artwork" for small casino installs...wow, just makes me realize how much history was lost with so little documentation...
