It's about 110 right now in Tucson.

I'm happy it's a little cooler than what you guys have, but then again, it still feels like I've been transported straight into hell.

This raises the question -- what do you guys do if the AC breaks on a hot day (or heat breaks on a cold day)? Slot warranties seem to be pretty stringent about keeping the machines within a pretty narrow temperature range -- is this a real issue or are these companies just being extra careful?

I can't speak to slots specifically but living in canada we get -40 weather.
Most electronics don't deal well with anything below -4f
Specifically electrolytic capacitors freeze and die.
Anything outside we would put into a heated enclosure.

You can get these small heaters - they look like transformers and they just get bolted to the chassis of an enclosure.

Are your machines sitting outside melting yet?

And I thought it was hot here...  :Tongue_Out:

We have had  -18* so far here in Mid Michigan. Not unheard of but don't see these temps every year.

I work for a power plant that supplies, partially, the East grid, and prices for a few hours were the equivelent of multiplying your power bill by 80, yes 80(!), because of a natural gas shortage and no wind. Temps at our home office were 50 below! You all do what you need to keep warm and safe!
