Fortune 1 Poker Game Sets
« on: September 11, 2016, 04:17:47 PM »
I recently acquired a large number of eproms from a local casino.  I have been looking for some time for a Fortune 1 game set that pays 6-9 with JOB, and have had no luck.  My machine would only pay 2 pair and it was boring.  So I have made it thru all of these chips and separated the Fortune 1 stuff, at least what I could identify as some are over 3 decades old and just a bit faded or unlabeled at all.  I found quite an array and maybe even some nuggets.  Spent more than a few days testing out the different sets and made a list.  Those of you that are into Fortune 1's will appreciate it and maybe grin and the rest will say meh.  I found a complete set that said '21' and it works!  Not up to today's standards but none the less it works.  But the most satisfying find was that game sets with credits also work, even though my machine is not set up for credits.  The only thing I give up is the 'bet one' button, who bet's less than max anyway?  Here's the sinister part.  I found a set that had credits and it is fast, not as fast as a GK set at max speed, but almost.  Played for a short while and shazzam, hit a royal.  The number of the game set...666.  Anyway, here's the chart, carry on.

I know this is an older post, but I just purchased a Fortune I machine and it is my first machine of any sort.

Currently, it has EPROMs that have 9/6 JoB and allow for credits. I also have older EPROMs which say "000-7FF POKER 485-S" and "800-FFF POKER 485-S" on them. It seems that these (TMS 2716JL-45 DAP8140 DIP-24) are old obsolete EPROMS from Texas Instruments and today's programmers will not recognize them. I would like to extract the data from these chips and create backups in the event one of the old EPROMs fails. I tried to dig through the archives and only found this:

Also, is there a way to rewire the buttons to allow for betting less than max coins?

Thanks in advance for your help.

The factory F1 with credits had 9 buttons including a bet one.  Machines like yours with 8 buttons were not intended for credit play.
My F1 only has 8 buttons but I never bet less than max so I don't mind.  I am please to be able to play credits as it makes the play
much more enjoyable, and cleaner.
I only know of two people capable of burning chips for an F1.  If you're main concern is having future backup then you can send a pm,
I have several sets.

Thank you for the quick reply. I have a MINIPro programmer that I was hoping would work but it looks like I would run the risk of frying the chips if I tried to rig it to use a different voltage.

I too always play max credits. Out of curiosity, is it just a lack of buttons that would prevent me from adding a Bet 1 Credit button or does the board itself not support the option for Bet 1 Credit?

Is there a place to find other EPROMs to play some of the other games available  for the F1?

I really don't know if the addition of a bet 1 is limited by the board, not that technically proficient.  The expert is BADBAUD.

I don't know what other games WERE available for F1.  I have been looking for a Joker Poker program for a long time that is
full pay, Kings or better, paying 5 for a flush, 7 for a full house and 20 for quads.  I have had no luck.  Don't know if they
made deuces wild for F1.  They did make '21' and I have a set of chips, but it's another matter of incorrect button layout.

There is just no one out there that has an ample supply of F1 'stuff'.  Quite often an F1 can be found very cheap because nobody
wants them.  I bought mine for $50 and then put about $100 into it for repairs and it works great.
