« on: June 12, 2017, 03:00:10 PM »
Can someone please tell me what Key chip is required for an S2000 Five Times Pay ? It has a 502 board and an SB001000 base chip.

This sounds like your running an S plus game in the S2000. You've got the version with those "hidden" speakers incorporated into the chassis. :)
I believe you need just the KEY 17 but someone else should chime in to confirm this.

Key45 and an IVC224 Clear.

I recommend going with an SB chip vs the SS 5Times Pay chip, more options and made for the S2000 platform. - Older Vision S2000's had those speakers.

How would I go about updating to an S2000 SB chip ?  Would it mean simply swapping out the Stepper Base SB001000 with the correct S2000 game chip ? Is this the only chip I would have to change ?

According to the list I saw on this website, it looks like the chip which most closely matches the current game is SB100057. Could someone please confirm ?

Yep. If you own an S2000 the clear and key chips are good to have, a must really. At the same time grab the SB100057 and replace it with the SB1000 after removing that SS chip. Set the machine back up to the denom and percentage you'd like and you're good to go. I recommend a battery swap during all this also.

You're running 365 SG chips, which will work, but 363's are the 'go-to' if you plan on numerous game changes in the future, those are tried n true.

Did they ever make an SB chip for the 5-coin 1-line version of FTP? I've not been able to find  :CaptainHappy_worried:

I replaced my current SB001000 chip with SB100057 and removed the SS6272 chip as suggested in previous message. On power up I get the error message "Base Eprom CRC Error -0xF000".  After clearing this the machine goes through a memory test and then I get the message "Call Attendant,  System Error". I can't seem to get out of this loop. I haven't used the key chip yet. I expect I'll have to re-enable the bill validator.

What is the correct procedure when updating the game chip ? Change the SB chip, power up and clear all errors then got through key chip procedure ? I'm new to this and need all the help I can get.
I have KEY 45 and Clear IVC0224 (I don't expect to use the clear chip).

Are you sure the SB chip is facing the right direction and no bent pins? If that is good, Do a clear. Normally unless you have a multi-denom. only turning the key 3 times and pushing reset button 2 seconds clears a game change. Sometimes it triggers a game type not set and going to settings and choosing upright or slant gets out of that.
Thank Ya Thank Ya Very Much.

The SB chip was facing the right direction and there were no bent pins.

I did a clear, then keyed it, then replaced the SB chip and powered up. I came to the same Base Eprom Error and I cannot access the menu. Any ideas where to go from here ?

I replaced the SB001000 and SS6272 chips in attempt to restore to original condition. The machine booted up, did a Netplex auto config., then gives error messages "Machine Type Mismatch", "Closure M", "Call Attendant".  I can't clear these errors.   I can now access the menu, but the only menu items are 1. Accounting, 2 History, and 4 I/O Tests.

Should I now attempt to key it ?

I keyed the machine, then in the menu changed the Machine Type from "Unknown" to "Upright".  After shutting down and powering back up, all the errors cleared. The machine works fine and appears to be back to normal. Guess I'll notify the vendor they sent me a bad SB chip.

Thanks for all the help !!!
