IGT S-Plys, Changed game chip, reels not aligned
« on: August 19, 2017, 02:39:44 PM »
I changed out my game chip to an SS6283, left the SP1271 as is.
Managed to clear the 61 and 61-1 codes, machine working, but seems like the reels are not aligned.
Any help will be much appreciated.
Thanks.

Welcome to NLG. The chip is actually the Reel chip or SS chip. The 6283 shows a 2 coin multiplier Triple Diamond Deluxe. Is that the game you have? What Reel chip did you replace? If not the TDD, what game do you have? Some reel chips work in other games also. I'm just wondering what game you have, to make sure the chip is compatible.

yes, what Shaggy said. You can't just put in any SS chip you want to, only those that are compatible. What is the number on the old SS chip you removed?

Also, if you did a game change to your machine it is possible you simply got the reel strips installed in the wrong order. If you look at the bottom end of each reel strip there is a part number. Report back what the strip numbers are for reel #1, #2 and #3.

Thanks for the replies.I have a Triple Diamond single line payout game.
Chip replaced was SS4779.
I thought this was compatible with my game, I just wanted a higher payout.

The new chip you installed (SS6283) is for a Triple Diamond Deluxe game:

http://www.newlifegames.net/igtbible/IGT%202CM/Game%20Library%20-%20S-Plus%20-%20Triple%20Diamond%20Deluxe%20(2%20Coin%20Multip.htm

The original chip (SS4779) that you removed is for a Triple Diamond, not the same game, it has different reel strips. I think this is what your problem is. When you click on the link below you will see the list of compatible chips for the Triple Diamond game, you need to select a chip from this list:

http://www.newlifegames.net/igtbible/IGT%202CM/Game%20Library%20-%20S-Plus%20-%20Triple%20Diamond%20(2%20Coin%20Multiplier).htm

The Triple Diamond Deluxe has the feature called "nudge" where the reels will move to a winning position if a symbol with an upward or downward pointing "wedge" lands above or below the payline. This does add some excitement to the game, so you could convert your Triple Diamond to a Triple Diamond Deluxe if you'd replace the reel strips and the glass.

That's it !
I do not have the Deluxe game, bummer.
Very subtle difference and I guess I missed it.
Thank you for your time, now at least I can get the right parts.

IGT S-Plus 9295 Prototype
Model 96400300

I really wanted a 9 line payout, but could not find one.

Thanks in advance,
Mark.

We'll have to get that question answered by one of the experts here to make sure about the answer, I'm not familiar enough with the S+ model. The SP1271 chip you have is for a certain "type" of game, it is a "Type 0". I think you can convert your machine to any other game that is the same "Type" number. You just need to install the SS chip for the new game, install new strips and glass. That's it.

If there is a game that you want to convert to that isn't the same "Type" number as your SP chip then you can also replace the SP chip with one that does work with the new game you've selected.

Here is a list showing most of the S+ games, on each individual game page it will tell you (just above the image of the game glass) what the game "Type" is. So any of them that say "Type 0" should be one you could convert to without replacing your SP chip.

http://www.newlifegames.net/igtbible/

Some of the most popular games are under the "2CM" and "3CM" category, click on one of them at the top of the first screen to see the list of games in that category.

There is one game listed that is a 9 line, it is a Triple Diamond:

http://www.newlifegames.net/igtbible/IGT%209%20Line/Game%20Library%20-%20S-Plus%20-%20Triple%20Diamond%20(9%20Line).htm

It is a Type 0 game, same as what you have now. So I think you can convert your machine to this game. It looks like the bottom glass (belly glass) is the same as what you have now, so would only need the top glass (award glass), SS chip and reel strips - plus a different reel glass showing the 9 line design if you wanted to change it too.

You're welcome. There are several slot machine dealers and parts vendors here on NLG, and other people that know where to look for game parts. If you want to find out cost and look for the parts needed to convert your machine you can post a message with what you want to do, one of the NLG staff will move your message to the Classified Ads area where it will get the widest audience. This is a free service. Just post your message here and request that it get moved. This kind of message is called a "WTB" (Want To Buy).
