S double diamond

I'm guessing this is an s not an s+.... board looks nothing like my s+..... this one sits in with plugs on top....can bill units be added to these ?? They have a simple coin mech . are the sp chips in these same or similar to s+ ?

Mike I'm not sure but top plugs and if it looks like yours, it might be an S machine. Can you post some inside and outside pics? Maybe an S2000, but with a coin mech. and no B/V sounds like older. Pictures will tell us. A coin mechanism is likely old.

On questions like this we are at a disadvantage unless you show us a photo. From what you describe this mpu has 2 large wiring cables and connectors attached to the mpu, this would make it an S. The S+ mpu plugs into the motherboard and does not use large wiring cables to make its connections.

If it is an S model I don't think you can add a bill validator, at least not very easily. But others will say for sure about this.

I think your photo shows that the machine is an IGT "S" model.

That's a "S" model slot machine by IGT.  cannot add a bill acceptor,  this model did not use a SP chip only a RS/SS series chips.  this board and software will not allow the use of nudge games or any special feature game. did not use door optics, had a cherry switch that preformed that function. many of the parts are interchangeable with the S+ model.

With the primitave coin mech, I tied the Serv switch to the coin sw to add credits easily. Any information out there on the pay % of these anywhere  ?

you can pull the board out and look at the number on the chip, then cross it over to a table.  I think you can press the white test button until you see a #4 in the coins played window,a number should appear in the winners paid window, this should be the number of the chip in the game. if you press the spin button, it will cycle through each winning combo, starting with the top win. 

long time since I worked on a "S"  doing this from memory.
