Ok, let's revive an old dead thread to post up a method.
Needed materials:
1x ChamII+ with display
1x top glass with tinted window for display
4" double-sided tape (3M Scotch brand permanent, 1/2" wide)
3/8x3/8x36" basswood strip from Michaels or other art/hobby store
Elmer's wood glue
Hot glue gun with medium glue stick
Cut 2 15" pieces from the basswood strip, check for bowing.
Mark 1 side of each so that bow faces inward (O on side that wood bows away from, see pic 1 and 2)
Cut 2 2" pieces from remaining basswood strip.
Using small wood clamp (as shown in pic 3, 16 year old Glenlivet Nadurra optional, but highly recommended :89-) and Elmer's wood glue, assemble framework for display as shown. Clamp and let set for 3-4 hours.

Using X-Acto knife and display as reference, trim inside of long edge of frame to fit display snugly (relieved areas are visible in pic 1 and 2 below). Trimming needs to be done at the very ends only.
Attach frame temporarily with double-sided tape on short sides, and center to display window.
Use hot glue gun to anchor short sides to back of top glass, as shown in pics, finished attachment show in pic 3.

Using natural bow of the wood to the inside (remember the marks we made? :5-), the display will be a mild press/interference fit, the bow of the wood will hold it snugly.
No need to glue, and removal/reinstallation is a breeze!
Many thanks to Jay and idesign for their input, gk to both!
