Bally Alpha Reel Games / Bally 9000 CPU No VGA Signal
« Last post by RipMcKeyster on Today at 04:05:37 PM »
I have a Bally 9000 CPU with no VGA signal. I even hooked it up to my PC monitor, but still no VGA signal. The power supply and VGA cable are good because I checked with a known working CPU, and Bally video shows on my PC screen. I even exchanged the power supply to rule that out. So far, I have ruled out the power supply and VGA cable. Anyone suggest anything else? Thanks for your time.

Sorry no. Once you get the door open you will be able to see how long the barrel needs to be. Usually 5/8" or 3/4" length.

I found the door key for Bally 6000 on eBay but they do not know if it also fits the E2303-4 model.  Do you know if they are the same spec’s?

Thanks much Chris - having a source for parts is a huge help.  I did a quick look at the EHT / flyback box - It's obviously had a hard life.  I need to order caps for it, but the semis on it check out.  With little to zero experience with these, I need all the help I can find.  I pulled the X-Y deflection board and power section.  The board looks good with no wonky repairs.  I''ll recap it and check the other components as time allows.  I found the the X channel power amplifiers (2N3716 and 2N3792 ) were both dead shorted.  I have those parts on hand.  BUT - I don't like the idea of just replacing parts and then firing this thing back up.  These semiconductors are getting expensive and I tend to feel there has to be a reason for the component failures.  Because one channel is bad - that would seem to eliminate the regulator as the cause of the fault.  If it had been the regulator board that caused the failure, I would think that both channels would have cooked.  I did test the heater of CRT for continuity ( it shows 3.2 Ohm ) but I have no other way of testing it - at lease that I'm aware of.  So I feel like I'm flying blind.  I really don't want to waste money destroying replacement parts.

Hi,
Help badly needed.
I am in need of a Bally 6000 Beach Party slot U-3 Bonus Feature sound chip, or at least a part number for the correct chip, or information on someone who might have this machine that I can get some information on how the Bonus feature should work.
Regards,
Jerry

Most of the door locks can be replaced with off-the-shelf barrel locks but you can buy "keyed alike" on ebay. That makes it easy.  I think I saw a Bally 6000 specific barrel lock on ebay. I'm sure our supporting businesses sell the locks and keys also. You might want to post a WTB and I'm sure someone will jump in.

As for the reset key....did they drill that lock out too?  Almost all electronic slot machines have the same reset key (2341) I'm not sure about the lock mechanism itself. They are usually intact on machines. The keys are readily available on Ebay or from our supporting shops.

Hi Lindam,
Would you by chance have a Bally Beach Party slot among the machines that you have?
