Bally S9000 Linked progressive setup (please help)
« on: August 30, 2015, 11:35:06 AM »
Ok,

Like most things I do anymore, there is not enough time in a day (I put in a request to change to 48 hr days but no response yet0

I am setting up 4 QH TPL Blazing 7's and 4 Hee Haw with the same linked progressives. I have a DCU (Data Collection Unit and the boards to go with it but have no clue how to program, reprogram or even reset the DCU. Is there any documentation for this? Is the DCU called something else because I cant find anything on it.

I have the resets that are needed as 5000/2000/200/100/20, I am assuming that in the machine setup I would select Mikohn as the controller and go from there. Is the DCU basically a hub between the games since the progressive setup itself is internal?

If any one can help please let me know as soon as possible.

Thanks !

Don't know what a DCU is but you'll need some king of linking progressive controller if it's not one. I run the Mikohn con2 Supercontroller on my linked progressives. You stated that you would select "Mikohn" as the controller but then you mention that the progressive setup is internal  :Scratch-Head: .  I don't think you can link the machines if you're using "the internal" controller. What will you be using for the progressive display?

DCU was a 3rd Gen jackpot controller designed by Mikohn, the design carried on also branded as PGIC 'Data Collection Unit'. It is an 8 level capable jackpot controller, which, if it has the right firmware in it, does 4 levels of standard progressive [ levels 0,1,2,3 ] and 4 levels of Mystery progressive [ levels 4,5,6,7 ] if your unit is serialized its a good bet its got mystery firmware. If animated text on the vfd display on the front panel shows " Ver 1.4X.1 " then it has standard & mystery. To program the controller you need "SuperLink" and I have the SuperLink V1.72 Install CD, if you want it, we could do a dropbox transfer or FTP. You will also have to make a serial cable with a DB9 on one end and DB25 on the other. I will be happy to help you with your DCU with available time. Drop me a message. I have all the 'stuff'
