Not sure I like the empty main playfield but the rest is very cool.

I agree. But I read up on it and they explain how your regular pin only uses the back 1/3, while the front 2/3 of the PF is ramps and decor.. (In most cases)

So basically instead of the plastic ramps and lights, they have the screen which shows the different 'missions' you are on.. And the plan on adding floating mods/trinkets to that open part of the PF. Neat stuff.

I'm sure the price point for these will be comparable to JJP's WOZ, so I can promise you I will never own one, I'm happy with the classic type.. Ha..

Judge Dredd and Tales from the Crypt for me, for now!!

I have seen some of the lcd pinball's for offer in my area-These are very cool but pricey.  Most will have up to 4-8 diff tittles on them.  Tales from the crypt-Last one I had was about 10 years ago.  We were moving from my home which was 3-story-no problem in loading..... Loaded onto a flat bed trailer-18 foot with aprox 12 pins on it-Crypt was on end.  3 trucks that night and got the phone call--Crypt came off the end of the trailer.  She skidded for about 1/3 mile, Hit a car and truck.  Wish I had pics of it,  Will ask wife if we have any.  It was strapped down and then some.  Had to pay for all the damage.  The lcd pin's are cool.  They will not be able to replace the real feel of a pin though.

POOR PINBALL MACHINE!! That'd be a good Tales from the Crypt episode.., Dodging TFTC pinball machines on the HWY.. Haha.. Hope you kept the salvageable parts/boards, send them to me if you did..

This pinball in the vids isn't strictly a MAME/HyperPin LED/LCD machine.. They incorporated actual ramps, targets, along with real flippers etc.. It has an actual PlayField that can be changed/swapped along with software and magnetic cabinet art if you wanted to change titles.  It prob won't be a hot seller due to cost and it not being 100% old school pinball, just thought it was neat what people come up with.. I wish them the best with it, and will happily demo their machine forever.. Ha

Now run to your shop and send me all pinball parts along with some complete Barcrest kits, topboxes also.. Will Ppal ya (Gift) immediately. Thx B!

Matt,  I did not even look at your links You had.  I DO know the lcd pins are quite cool--In my opinion.  they had some great deals around x-mas time and a little after on these.  These things are Expensive-But nice and cool.  This is a true story--the pinball slid down the hwy.  The machine itself--STILL WORKED!!!.  Although it was very badly damaged cosmetic wise!. It was sold long ago to help pay for damages incurred- :duh: .

Check out the vids! Grab yourself some swamp-juice, fire up some popcorn, and enjoy. Not your average LCD/LED pin here..

I built a Vpin into my mame cabinet.
I have added solinoids that hit the bottom of the table so when you hit your flipper buttons. You get the same force feedback and sound that you do from a real table. I have also added a USB accelerometer and a usb plunger. The accelerometer is so when you hit or nudge the table your ball responds accordingly.
I have Williams Diner as emulation as well as a real Williams Diner (real pin table) - and can contest there is nothing like the real thing but I am suitably impressed with the quality of the emulations.

Nice! I actually started the search for a 'real' wide-body cabinet to build a Virtual Pin a few months ago.. I could have built a cabinet, but wanted the original look, along with coin door, glass, rails etc.. I couldn't find one (under $500) so ended up buying a Judge Dredd, which is awesome btw..

I would still build a Virtual Pin IF I could get a cab and a list of what's needed to make it like yours., with all the bells and whistles. I would love to play the rare-bird pins.. (No chance to play a real Cactus Canyon, MM or the like in person so.)

I may be PM'n you a few dozen times with questions, thanks for letting me know! Just kidding Jay. But if I take on that project, I may ask a few questions.

Mine is a low profile oak coffee table.
I used a 26" Wide Screen LCD.
KE72 - Plugs into the keyboard port (or USB) and gives 72 discreet inputs for buttons, joysticks etc.
I had a used laptop with a cracked screen but the graphics card wasn't good enough for Vpinball.
I took a used 2U HP DL385 G5 server and installed a 3D Cad video card. The company I used to work for buys high end HP z800 workstations then pulls the video card and installs a better graphics card worth about 12K (more $ than the PC). I freecycled one of the pulled video cards.
I then also installed a USB audio card as the server didn't have any external speaker capabilities.
Despite being a dual power supplied server - I found that once you have too many USB devices the computer doesn't boot - so I picked up a small powered USB hub to take some of the load off.
The coffee table has controls at both ends for coctail versions of Galaga, Pacman, etc and then two side by side controls for games like Joust and street fighter which are either played head to head or just look better in portrait.

That is really cool! Wow, a lot of different games you can play on that. From Golden Tee, to cocktail style games, to pinball it looks.

I have a similar setup I built, but more of a 'budget' build. External TV/Monitor, older computer, video card etc. Pinball just plays a bit slow, laggy.., Pinball is almost unplayable really.

Here's a few pics. - I actually built the entire cabinet out of bed frames that I picked up while doing a remodel job for an old furniture store.. They were tossing NOS frames in all types of nice finished hardwoods.. I filled my trailer to the top with them. Ha, freebie!! (The things some people/companies toss in the trash..)

I like it. Nice and compact.

I had a buddy that made one similar. His is a very narrow pedestal and he went with a crome laminate. He is a big treky fan and has a Starfleet emblum on the top. I think he paid like $600 for the emblum from some memorabilia auction.

You found the same problem as I had. You need a higher end graphics card. With the one in my laptop it was practically unplayable.
Its pretty good with the CAD quality graphics card.
