I-Game tilt, Please help
« on: November 06, 2016, 05:22:26 PM »

First off, please be gentle, I am new to this,I have a new to me I-game in the Phone Tag theme. I picked it up today after it had been sitting in a mini storage for 4-6 months. I t is a paper in paper out machine, I played it for a bit and everything was good until i hit the Cash out button, I got a Coin out jam, call attendant Tilt message. Is there anyway to clear this without going through major steps.

       Thanks

First off do you have a reset key for the machine? Your going to need that. Next you need to know if the printer has a any ticket paper in it.. Opening the door and turning the reset key should clear errors..
Please remember to make a donation to NLG for mine/our help in repairing your machines problem.. Your donations help keep this site on line.
And remember...
If it's jammed, force it.. If it breaks, it needed to be replaced anyways...

When I get a coin out jam I usually end up clearing it. Don't panic. Clearing and resetting is not that hard to do. You will need a reset key and a key 22 chip. Not sure if there is a way around  a coin out jam without clearing.

Thanks guys, I really appreciate the help on this problem. First, I do have the reset key, but it doesn't clear the Tilt. Second yes there is paper in the printer, after I first encountered this problem I looked at the printer, and it had a flashing error light on it, But after some attention, I started getting the green status light on it. O.k. here is where I am now, I finally looked into the setup menu after my 5k time of looking thru things, under the Peripheral setup menu, it shows that the hopper is enabled, and the printer is disabled, I have no hopper, and it will not let me change the payout over to the printer. So what's is my next step ?

     Thanks

O.K. additional thoughts, since i cant change my payout source on my machine, and cannot change the payout limit, and is all of this due to the fact that I have credits on the machine ?
if so, what is the usual way to remove the credits, clear chip ?

You're going to need a Keychip to clear the machine, disable the hopper, and enable the printer (if desired).  If you don't have one you could momentarily remove the CMOS RAM chips from their sockets, that will cause them to lose the data stored in memory.  When the machine boots back up you will get a RAM error message and have to turn the reset key and push the test button on the MPU board.  When the machine comes up your credits will be gone and the machine will be playable.  You'll still need a keychip to disable the hopper and enable the ticket printer though I believe.

you can get your machine playable again until your keychip arrives by pulling and reinstalling the RAM chips as Tilt outlined above    :applause: :cool_thumb_up:

I had thought about that, but I read somewhere that it will erase the Bill validator from memory, is that true, and is that a big problem to set it back up ? also I am not sure which chips they are that need to be pulled, can someone shed some light on that ?

nah you shouldn't have any problems with your bill acceptor after swapping RAM chips on your machine...that's mostly S+ cabinets you would have to worry about that scenario.  RAM chips are at locations U15 & U38 on the board, probably labeled "RAM" with silkscreen.  i always simply swap the eproms to achieve the "clear"

Ok I pulled the chips and replaced them, Machine cleared the credits and is up and running, my wife is much happier now, she was starting to think I had waisted money on a Dead machine. I told her whatever she does, do not push the cash out button, LOL. I will be adding more to this thread after I get my clear key. Now to start a new thread on a different I-game that pops up about a half dozen Tilts. Once again, I really appreciated the help so far

you could pull the bottom part of the button off so she can't hit the switch inadvertently...depending on the button style it most likely snaps or twists apart, you'll have to open the door to access that part of the player panel.

glad you got the game playable again!!  :applause:

Yep, either that or pull one of the wires off the microswitch.  Glad you got it up and running.

true I could always do that, but I would actually like to get the printer functioning, I am waiting on my clear chip and I also have some new paper coming in to replace tha antique paper that came with them, the paper in the Tabasco game is actually from the stardust, so its been around for a bit.

I want to thank everyone, I couldn't have gotten this far without their help

O.K. the machine has been sitting, I turned it on, and now I am getting and error message, at the top of the screen it says

                                   EEPROMRECOVERY ERROR
                                      -0x10000005

at the bottom of the screen it says NON-RECOVERABLE ERROR   MUST USE THE APPROPRIATE CHIP TO CLEAR THIS ERROR

any ideas on how to clear this problem up ?

Thanks

Turn the jackpot reset key and follow the on-screen directions.  That should clear it, if not, then you may have other problems.
